That's Perdue.In the Farrowing Department you will:Assist in all aspects of farrowing and lactation in order to meet weekly shipping targets of full-value pigsEnsure that ALL animals across the farm have received proper feed, water, ventilation, and bedding on a daily basisAssist with all other aspects of the farm to ensure farm goals are met and tasks are completed on a daily basisDuties:Ensure proper procedures are followed for Day-One pig, fostering, etc.Processing of piglets in accordance with company proceduresProper treatment/care of sows in farrowingMaintain cleaning/bedding of farrowing pens; and clean-out and disinfecting farrowing room after weaningKeep, communicate, and report accurate records on a daily basisNotify and discuss openly with management any problems, concerns or questionsConserve farm resources such as supplies, equipment, and timePromote cooperation within the unit and contributes to adequate staffingCommunicate openly and freely with othersAny other duties as assigned, requested, or directed by management/supervisorEducation/Requirements:Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalentExperience working with and caring for livestockAbility to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.Ability to lead by example, and work with a team of 2-5 peopleAbility to problem solve, be a critical thinker, goal oriented, and a team playerThis position has a base rate of $18 per hour, with opportunities for pay premiums, shift differentials and overtime where applicable.
