A Farm Labor Contractor (FLC) is responsible for recruiting, hiring, and managing agricultural workers for farming operations. They ensure compliance with labor laws, handle payroll, and often provide transportation and housing for workers. Familiarity with payroll systems, timekeeping software, and safety compliance documentation is typically required, along with any mandated contractor licensing. Job description

About Our Client:

Our client is a fifth-generation, family-owned agricultural operation producing nuts, vegetables, and nursery products. Combining longstanding agricultural traditions with modern management practices, the company focuses on sustainable growth, operational excellence, and long-term viability. They maintain a close-knit, collaborative team environment where reliability, accuracy, and mutual respect are core values across field, production, and office operations.

What They Bring to the Table:

Our client offers a stable, meaningful role in a respected family-owned agricultural business with competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive culture that values work-life balance, professional development, and the opportunity to grow within a trusted, multi-generational organization.

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Supportive, family-oriented culture with emphasis on collaboration, respect, and employee well-being
  • Hands-on training and transition support from experienced leadership

What You Bring to the Table:

We are seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Payroll & Accounting Specialist with 5+ years of payroll, bookkeeping, or accounting experience, strong attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. You will become the primary payroll processor while managing a significant portion of accounts payable (including vendor and Farm Labor Contractor invoices), providing light reception support, and assisting the Accounting Manager in a fast-paced yet collaborative agricultural office environment. Spanish fluency is required for communicating with field employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accurate, timely payroll for farm employees and office staff, including reviewing time records, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining detailed payroll documentation
  • Handle full-cycle accounts payable: process vendor invoices, review and pay Farm Labor Contractor (FLC) invoices with supporting documentation, reconcile statements, and execute payment runs
  • Respond to employee payroll questions in both English and Spanish, coordinate with supervisors for accurate time reporting, and ensure compliance with payroll regulations
  • Maintain organized electronic and paper records for payroll, accounts payable, and general accounting documentation
  • Provide general accounting support, assist with routine tasks, reporting, and recordkeeping under the direction of the Accounting Manager
  • Perform light reception duties: answer incoming calls, greet occasional visitors, and provide clerical support to the accounting team as needed

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, family-owned agricultural business where your payroll expertise, bilingual skills, and organizational abilities will play a central role in supporting employees and operations. You'll work in a collaborative, values-driven environment that prioritizes accuracy, confidentiality, teamwork, and long-term career stability within a respected multi-generational organization.
