Job description

Amtec Staffing has partnered with a leading General Contractor specializing in Multi-Family projects throughout Southern California to identify an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team in Newport Beach, CA.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established builder with a strong pipeline of high-profile apartment renovation projects, known for delivering high-quality renovations, tenant improvement upgrades, and value-add construction solutions across the Orange County market.

Project Types:

Multi-Family Renovations • Occupied Apartment Renovations • Interior & Exterior Repositioning • Capital Improvement Projects • Tenant Improvement Upgrades • Ground-Up Multi-Family Construction

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, subcontractor coordination, procurement, and client communication.
  • Lead and coordinate renovation activities on occupied apartment communities while minimizing disruption to residents.
  • Work closely with Superintendents, subcontractors, ownership groups, architects, and consultants to ensure successful project execution.
  • Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders throughout the life of the project.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve scheduling, budgetary, or constructability issues.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, forecasting, and cost tracking using project management software.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company standards, local building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Participate in owner meetings and provide regular updates regarding project milestones, financials, and timelines.
  • Assist in mentoring Project Engineers and junior staff members as the team continues to grow.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience with Multi-Family construction and/or renovation projects.
  • Renovation and/or Ground-Up/New Construction experience preferred on projects up to $30M in value.
  • Strong experience managing occupied renovation projects preferred.
  • Background with apartment repositioning, exterior renovations, unit turns, amenity upgrades, or capital improvement projects highly desired.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, contracts, and change order management.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar construction management software preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
