Job description

As a Mortgage Post Closer, you'll play a critical role in the final stages of the lending process, ensuring smooth, compliant closings that help families and individuals secure their homes. If you're detail-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and love turning complex loan files into successfully closed deals, we'd love to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review mortgage loan documents for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance with Secondary Market and investor guidelines.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies, obtain missing documentation, and coordinate with escrow companies, investors, and internal teams.
  • Prepare and organize loan files for funding while maintaining strict adherence to policies, procedures, and deadlines.
  • Provide exceptional support to internal partners and external customers with clear, professional communication.
  • Proactively monitor pipeline status and follow up to ensure timely closings.

Qualifications & Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in a Real Estate loan department (mortgage processing, closing, or post-closing preferred) with general product knowledge of mortgage and home equity loans.
  • A detail-oriented, technical-minded approach with strong multitasking abilities, high accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • General understanding of regulatory guidelines and Secondary Market requirements as they relate to closing documents (in-depth knowledge preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of key real estate loan regulations, including TRID, RESPA, Reg Z, Reg B, and the Uniform Commercial Code.
  • Basic knowledge of Escrow, Title, and Investor processes.
  • Basic analytic skills sufficient to conduct compliance and investor reviews of completed loan files.
  • Solid computer skills, including mortgage processing software (LOS), Microsoft Word, Excel, and general office applications.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
