Job description

Overview

Flagger Force, an industry leader in traffic control, is currently hiring for a Finance Internship. This position will be based out of our corporate office located in Hummelstown, PA.

The Finance Intern supports the Finance team with weekly payroll auditing tasks, employee record administration, and other operational and compliance-related projects. This role reviews timesheet and GPS data to help identify discrepancies, supports accurate and timely payroll processing, and assists with administrative tasks related to employee payroll records. The intern will also participate in additional Finance audits and projects as business needs evolve.

Responsibilities
  • Audit employee timesheets using GPS and other available data to identify potential time discrepancies.
  • Assist with weekly payroll audits and reconciliation activities to help ensure issues are identified prior to payroll processing.
  • Support payroll personnel administration, including employee mail, termination-related items, address updates, and record maintenance.
  • Compile, organize, and document information related to payroll and operational audits.
  • Assist with vehicle usage, fuel, and other compliance-related audits and projects as assigned.
  • Communicate with Payroll, Finance, and other internal teams to research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support the Finance team with reporting, data analysis, process improvement initiatives, and special projects as needed.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree (or in pursuit of) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software systems.
  • Excellent judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate (written, verbal and non-verbal) clearly and maintain a consistent professional and positive, upbeat manner.
  • Exceptional customer service, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be proactive and service oriented with keen attention to detail; ability to anticipate needs required.
  • Steel toed boots or the ability to obtain prior to employment

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Previous internship or past financial related work experience.
