Position Overview


Elk Grove, Mt. Prospect, & Rosemont Ice Arenas, part of Papago Management, a commercial property management entity within the Nicholas Family of Companies, is seeking three full-time Facilities Manager to oversee and support the facilities team.


The Facilities Manager oversees repair and maintenance work performed by technicians, vendors, and contractors, including building maintenance, landscaping, and janitorial services, while ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards and timely completion of work orders. The ideal candidate is collaborative, provides clear direction, is flexible with hours, and demonstrates reliability and a positive attitude.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Recruit, train, and schedule employees
  • Coordinate monthly staff meetings
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment across all facilities
  • Assists the director of facilities in developing and maintaining a capital improvement budget
  • Oversee on-site capital improvement projects
  • Schedule and coordinate required annual inspections, resolve any issues, and maintain up-to-date inspection reports and certificates
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Village of Elk Grove (police, fire, village inspections, and permitting)
  • Assist in managing maintenance contracts in collaboration with the director of facilities
  • Obtain, maintain, and organize certificates of insurance from vendors
  • Ensure cost-effective purchasing of supplies, parts, and vendor contracts
  • Manage and maintain a work order system through the Computerized Maintenance software
  • Assist the director of facilities and the accounting department in budget development and ensure expenditures align with the approved budget
  • Implement and oversee general and preventive maintenance programs for all facilities
  • Direct and manage all aspects of facility infrastructure, including refrigeration and HVAC systems
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants, including the Chicago Mission, Hatty’s, Illinois Bone & Joint, and future tenants
  • Maintain and oversee the facility’s technology infrastructure
  • Along with the manager of operations, be on call
  • Share responsibility with the manager of operations for overseeing all tournaments
  • Coordinate crowd control and safety procedures for on-and off-ice events
  • Oversee maintenance of the security camera system
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the director of facilities


Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of building systems, structures, interiors, exteriors, housekeeping, and maintenance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) preferred
  • Effective project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
