Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Facilities will manage the day to day operations of the facilities team in a geographic area or region, performing all administrative and staffing related responsibilities for the region. They will also manage all major projects and capital improvements for a geographic area of the country, which may include two regions. The position will report directly to the Facilities Director.
What you'll be doing as Assistant Director of Facilities:
  • Primary point of contact for ensuring that the gyms in your region are exceptionally well maintained.
  • Oversees repairs, maintenance, and upkeep for the facilities within their assigned region
  • Manages a team of facilities associates, and in partnership with them, ensures our facilities are well maintained, and repairs are made in a timely manner
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing their region's facilities department budgets, meeting department and gym targets, approving expenses and partnering with local Facility Associates to determine priority and cost.
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing all Facilities led Capital Improvements in their geographic area of the country. This includes project management, budget management, and ensuring projects are delivered to Movement standards.
  • Reviews and audits the Asana Facilities Task projects (1 per facility), and ensuring timely execution of repairs/maintenance in line with priorities and budget, and provides clear communication and updates for key stakeholders
  • Responsible for managing the team, schedules, and processing payroll
  • Responsible for hiring, training new facility associates in partnership with the Facility Director
  • Has regular presence in every location within their region, working with their team
  • Responsible for maintaining regional asana projects ensuring timely execution and communication with key stakeholders in partnership with the Facility Associate.
  • Is the point person for their region for local and regional leaders
  • Partners with Senior Directors to ensure clear communication with Director teams on facilities issues
  • Regularly meets with Facilities Director and other Facilities leaders to ensure alignment with company goals and policies.
  • Coordinates with the Facilities Director to provide support staffing for CAPEX, Strike Team or similar projects
  • Records all expenses weekly and works within the budget for their region as assigned by the Director of Facilities
  • Drafts and support the budget development annually for their home region

What success looks like:
  • Create an environment of success for facilities department team members, including maintaining a culture that is collegial and tracks with the company's values and goals
  • Prioritize administrative support to facilities team members, allowing them to focus their time on their primary responsibilities.
  • Ensure that all gyms in the region are maintained
  • Ensure that communication between facilities and Ops department is efficient & effective
  • Ensure that larger projects are completed in a timely way and tracked accurately

  • Full time hours with a flexible schedule (ex: flex to work late nights, early mornings and weekends if work is needed to be done during non-business/busy hours)
  • Experience leading teams of people

  • Ability to safely use and supervise use of power tools and ladders.
  • Ability to keep track of and report on an activity.
  • Organized and efficient, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform Rope Access work and be comfortable working on ropes at height (training available).

  • Ability to work on a ladder and lift 50lbs.
  • Have a valid driver's license and ability to travel to all regional gyms regularly and other regions as needed for project support.

  • This is a full-time position
  • The annual salary for this position starts at $68,000 to $71,500. Actual pay rate will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
  • This role is based in the Baltimore/DC area, with quarterly travel to Chicago and occasional travel to other regions. Weekly presence in at least 4 gyms closest to home, with bi-weekly presence in the furthest gym.
