Description

The Location Manager acts as the "owner" of the location and has responsibility for all activities that occur within the location. The Location Manager focuses on all aspects of business success including customer satisfaction, fiscal responsibility, process efficiency, employee safety, and employee development. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Hire, train, and supervise all employees at the location.
  • Conduct annual review with all employees.
  • Providing a safe work environment for all employees through complete implementation of company safety programs.
  • Ensuring complete customer satisfaction for seed produced, processed, or distributed from their location.
  • Maximizing production of seed that meets all quality specifications.
  • Implementation of the ISO Quality Management System, as it applies to the location and responsibility as the location ISO Management Representative.
  • Communicating overall business and location strategy to location employees.
  • Ensuring adequate staffing of location processes to meet customer and business needs.
  • Developing the annual location budget and monitoring spending throughout the production year.
  • Evaluate location capacity vs. needs and recommends capital improvements.
  • Initiating problem solving to improve location performance as needs arise.

Requirements

  • A 4-year college degree in Agriculture preferred but no mandatory
  • Agricultural background is beneficial
  • Computer skills required, advanced skills preferred
  • Understanding of seed production or minimum of four years of related experience
  • Excellent communications skills with positive attitude
