Position Overview:

The Maintenance Technician performs skilled maintenance and repairs to club facilities and equipment in trade areas such as fitness club equipment, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting or carpentry.

A successful candidate will have at least +3 years of maintenance experience. Familiarity with fitness equipment (strength and cardio) is a plus (but not required)! We are looking for a highly collaborative team player who demonstrates the ability to add strategic value to the team. Anticipated responsibilities outlined below. You will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the company and will work closely with the Manager of Facilities as well as other cross-functional team members.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and complete facilities/building repairs within a given geographic territory, including inspections
  • Oversee routine and preventative repairs, inspections and maintenance in other skilled trades including but not limited to fitness equipment, tanning beds, Hydromassage beds including all electronic tracking, building automation systems, card access systems, repair of electrical devices, water leaks, install plumbing fixtures, appliance repair, drywall repair and painting and various other R&M tasks associated with operation of a commercial property.
  • Oversee maintenance and equipment repairs including but not limited to managing the ordering and tracking of parts and supplies.
  • Oversee third party trade partners.
  • Maintain tools, parts, equipment, vehicles and supplies in clean and safe conditions.
  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs.
  • Support on-call or emergency response situations.
  • Other projects and tasks to be assigned.
  • Demonstrate drive and initiative to anticipate, identify, solve, and follow-through on problems and the ability to act independently to achieve results with a high degree of accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Adaptable and must work successfully in a team environment, building and maintaining effective working relationships with a diverse group of contributors internally and externally.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Possess the ability to interpret maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams and other documents and to safely operate all company equipment. Must be a self-starter, highly organized, flexible, and able to adjust to constant change.
  • Capability to multi-task in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Superior customer service and communication skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines regarding chemicals, ladders, power tools, etc.
  • +3 years building maintenance experience.
  • Competency with hand and power tools.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
