Description
  • The Part 135 Director of Maintenance maintains primary responsibility for the Pentastar

Aviation Maintenance Control Section and all functions performed under its umbrella; ensuring
all maintenance activities adhere to FAA regulations (Part 135 and Part 91), Pentastar Aviation
policies, and industry best practices. This includes management of Airworthiness Directives
(ADs) and Service Bulletins (SBs).
Requirements
Extensive experience in Part 135 multi-engine turbine powered aircraft maintenance.
  • Holds 14 CFR Part 119.69 experience requirements.
  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations and guidance material.
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Budget, scheduling, and planning experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in common aviation applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, Corridor, CAMP, CMP,Traxxall, and Fl3xx).
  • Experience with electronic recordkeeping is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervises and supports Maintenance Controller, Maintenance Planning, and Quality Assurance personnel.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and execution of the maintenance programs for a fleet of Part 135 and Part 91 managed aircraft.
  • Direct and evaluate the performance of maintenance personnel, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Monitors the organizational climate to ensure a productive, modern, collaborative, and motivating environment by working with the Management Team to establish and implement management systems and principles that inspire a high level of individual, team and corporate excellence.
  • Manage relationships with maintenance vendors, ensuring timely and cost-effective repairs.
  • Provides oversight and counsel on financial matters to analyze and lower costs to improve business results.
  • Assist in tracking and creating annual aircraft maintenance budgets.
  • Collaborates with senior management peers and operating managers to maximize financial performance. Provides feedback and advice to the Management team concerning financial implications of various projects.
  • Participates in the development of the Department's strategic plan and strives to meet or exceed plan.
  • Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for Maintenance Control activities.
  • Recommends selection of staff; trains staff in work procedures; administers discipline as required.
  • Responds to and resolves Customer and Maintenance Control staff inquiries and complaints in the most expeditious method possible.
  • Inspects staff work and ensures quality and conformance to specifications set by the company.
  • Prepares a variety of written correspondence and periodic and special reports regarding work performed.
  • Ensures that staff personnel follow safety and security procedures.
  • Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Maintenance Control Section to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
  • Proactively works across all departments to ensure that functional objectives are met for production, procurement, quality control, logistics and administrative functions.
  • Ensures notification of senior management personnel in event of accident, incident, or irregular operation as required by current Company manuals and Company policy.
