Job Description:

The Deputy Chief Inspector's has responsibility of AOC specific management of day-to-day Airworthiness activities and is responsible to the Chief Inspector. Must be knowledgeable of OEM Manuals, relevant Company Manuals and Federal Aviation Regulations. The Deputy Chief Inspector's overall purpose is to assist the Chief Inspector in all aspects of the Airworthiness Department and may need to step in the Chief Inspectors role in his absence. The Principles Responsibilities are listed below but are not limited to:

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in maintaining the Company's 133 and 135 Operating Certificates.
  • Assist in creating and distributing FAA reports to include Service Difficulty Reports (135.415) and Mechanic Interruption Reports (135.417).
  • Project management of application and documentation on Import and Export activities to and from the US to the proper authorities.
  • Establishment, maintenance, and coordination of project charters related to Import/Export activity and ensuring the business is informed of project status.
  • Hosting and executing AC Lease returns, Lessor routine inspections and related records to Lessors as required for routine inspections and the management of lease return projects.
  • Working with the CAMO Engineer (Chief Inspector) to develop efficient policies, processes, and procedures according to industry best practice, ensuring they remain in line with regulatory requirements and business needs of the region.
  • Management of record keeping for Airworthiness Directives, AC Software, Weight and Balance, Modifications, Repairs and electrical load analysis (ELA) for AOC specific aircraft.
  • Assisting the configuration control team with keeping an up-to-date configuration/equipment list for each aircraft.
  • Day to day management of contracted maintenance activity.
  • Coordination of contracted maintenance Activity including the compilation of Scope of work, continued project management, acting as a POC for contracted organizations and updating of the company ERP system.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core Activity

  • Update of aircraft records for Airworthiness Directives, AC Software, Weight and Balance, Modifications, Repairs and electrical load analysis (ELA) for AOC specific aircraft.
  • Coordination and execution of Permit to Fly applications.
  • Verify and approve Short Term Escalation requests.
  • Verify and approve Minimum Equipment List extensions and notification to the FAA.
  • Assist in creating and reviewing department generated technical manuals to include Minimum Equipment List and Passenger Briefing Cards.
  • Promoting safety in all areas and ensuring all the above are managed in line with the Company's core values, ensuring CAMO inputs to the management system and management of risks associated with continuing airworthiness.
  • Management of Airworthiness Safety Reports generated through the Company SMS, establishing and maintain Safety Performance Indicators related to Airworthiness management activity in the US region.
  • Execution of Root Cause Analysis and implementation of mitigations related to Airworthiness Safety reports.
  • Identifying and tracking KPIs to manage the area of responsibility.
  • Reviewing Safety Reports and Audit Findings relative to the area of responsibility and assisting in root cause analysis investigations, as well as implementing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Supporting Other Airworthiness management teams with special projects.
  • Assisting the CAMO Engineer (Chief Inspector) as required.

HR

  • Managing reporting staff competency in line with regional and business requirements, to include coordinating ongoing training and managing staff training plans;
  • Managing reporting staff capacity and leave of absences;
  • Assisting in Disciplinary or performance improvement activity related to reporting staff.
  • Assisting in recruitment activity when required.

Quality and Safety

  • Reviewing Safety Reports and Audit Findings relative to the area of responsibility and assisting in root cause analysis investigations, as well as implementing corrective and preventative actions;

PERSON SPECIFICATION: (minimum education requirements, key skills and experience)

Qualifications

  • A&P Certificate.
  • FAA experience required.
  • Helicopter Manufacturer Training - Airbus, Sikorsky or Leonardo.

Experience

  • Experienced A&P Mechanic/licensed Engineer (minimum 5 years' experience)
  • Experience with a variety of products and manufacturers.
  • Experienced with Ramco Application.
  • Previous experience within Continuing Airworthiness Management environment (preferable).
