The Role

The Chief Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of
aviation maintenance operations. This position requires a strong understanding of FAA regulations and meticulous attention to detail to maintain the highest standards of safety and airworthiness in aviation maintenance. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Quality Assurance: Directing Quality Control Inspectors to ensure that all
    maintenance processes and procedures align with Company and FAA-approved manuals.
  • Inspections: Conducting inspections, including work-in-progress, and completed inspections, to verify compliance.
  • Airworthiness Oversight: Checking workmanship, materials, standards, and
    procedures related to Jetvia maintenance activities.
  • Reporting Discrepancies: Reporting any discrepancies noted during inspections to the Director of Maintenance and Jetvia Leadership.
  • Quality Escapes: Travel to perform on-site inspections, and root cause analysis as needed

Primary Duties
Workmanship and Material Inspection:

  • The Chief Inspector is responsible for checking the quality of workmanship,
    materials, and adherence to standards and procedures within the maintenance activities of the organization.
  • Review completed work by airframe and powerplant mechanics or repairmen.


Reporting Discrepancies:

  • Any discrepancies or non-compliance observed during inspections are promptly reported in concert with the Director of Maintenance.


Quality Escapes:

  • Travel to perform on-site inspections, and root cause analysis.
  • Recommend immediate corrective actions and preventative measures.
  • Capture and memorialize all quality escapes and corrective actions.

Airworthiness Assurance:

  • The Chief Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft.
  • Conduct inspections to verify compliance with established procedures and FAA regulations.
  • Insuring all company manuals are in line with FAA regulations and that company employees are working within the guidelines of our manuals.


Knowledge and Proficiency:

  • The Chief Inspector maintains a high level of knowledge by reviewing manuals, publications, and specific items.
  • They stay informed about manufacturers' technical service documentation to ensure continued airworthiness.
  • Responsible for keeping and updating company manuals and communicating changes.


Process Improvement and Streamlining:

  • The Chief Inspector actively reviews the Internal manuals for continued
    compliance.
  • They contribute ideas for process improvements and streamlining procedures.


Quality Assurance Programs:

  • The Chief Inspector supports the management and maintenance of quality
    assurance programs.


Collaboration and Coordination:

  • The Chief Inspector coordinates with various parties, including Flight Operations, maintenance vendors, and FBOs, during maintenance events.


Qualifications

Required

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in quality management within the aviation industry
  • A thorough understanding of FAA regulations and other relevant industry
    guidelines is necessary. The Chief Inspector must ensure that their organization complies with all applicable standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills are vital. The ability to lead and inspire a team toward quality excellence is essential.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
