Extrusion Technician / Supervisor  - PSC72825
 
Compensation: $25 - 40/hr + benefits

Position Overview:
We are seeking an Extrusion Line Technician to set up and operate extrusion lines. This role involves producing plastic cylinders and profiles to specifications, performing line adjustments, ensuring product quality, and maintaining accurate production records.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate extrusion lines, using a variety of thermoplastic materials to produce plastic cylinders and profiles meeting specifications and dimensions in accordance with work orders and blueprints.
  • Install or change extrusion heads, dies, pins, sizing sleeves, screens, and extruder screws as needed.
  • Make all necessary line adjustments, including start-up, temperature profile adjustments, dryer set-ups, resin changeovers, and shutdowns.
  • Visually check extruded parts for defects, check dimensions, and record using vernier calipers, tape measure, and GO/NO GO rods.
  • Make necessary adjustments to keep materials in specification.
  • Arrange raw material feeding system and containers, and mix raw materials as required.
  • Instruct lower-grade machine tenders in the details of the extrusion line operation.
  • Detect flaws in raw materials and production equipment, and make required mechanical or material changes as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of production set-ups, extrusion production data sheets, statistical process control, or inspection report sheets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in plastic extrusion operations, demonstrating the ability to set up and operate extrusion lines  
  • Proficiency in installing or changing extrusion heads, dies, pins, sizing sleeves, screens, and extruder screws.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
