Job description

Overview
Consider joining the Pennex family as the Operations Manager, Extrusion at our Leetonia location. This position will direct and coordinate the activities of the extrusion departments. This position collaborates with the General Manager and Pennex Leadership Team to formulate, uphold, and administer operational plans to ensure the growth opportunities and business objectives are met in order to achieve operational excellence and exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the operational performance of the Leetonia extrusion department.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of the Leetonia extrusion department.
  • Champions the safety culture by actively engaging employees at all levels with a zero-injury philosophy. Collaborates with the EHS Manager, Training Coordinator, and Leadership Team to create vision for achieving this goal.
  • Collaborates with sales and scheduling teams to ensure customer satisfaction, efficient operation and sales growth.
  • Develops the extrusion teams to create a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Fosters a collaborative team environment to leverage strengths and achieve business objectives, develop site specific policies, and establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
  • Reviews key metrics and financial statements to determine departmental progress in attaining objectives.
  • Assists in developing capital asset requests and implements projects to improve operations and to maximize returns on investments.
  • Provides leadership for the team to ensure the highest level of quality to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for team schedules, staffing requirements, training and cross-training opportunities.
  • Works with the Leadership Team to develop forecasts and budgets for the annual extrusion operating plan to meet or exceed the business objectives.
  • This position will serve as a key member of the Leetonia Leadership Team, reporting directly to the General Manager of Pennex Leetonia Extruded Products.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Continuous Improvement (Lean/Six-Sigma) training is preferred.
  • Ten or more years of extrusion operations supervision and/or extrusion management experience is required.
  • Automotive extrusion experience is preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be able to problem-solve and think outside of the box. Thorough understanding of Root Cause Analysis and Solution based thinking
  • Project Planning experience preferred
  • Microsoft office experience required: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • EPICS experience and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 required
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and apply new skills
  • Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments
  • Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects and prioritize them appropriately
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively disseminate information in a clear and concise manner
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
  • Regular attendance required
