Job description

The UT Health ET Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) PRN plays a critical role in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients in their homes across the United States. This position focuses on assisting licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans designed to improve patient mobility, reduce pain, and enhance overall functional independence. The PTA will work closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care and optimal therapeutic outcomes. This role requires adaptability to various home environments and the ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care while adhering to professional and organizational standards. Ultimately, the PTA contributes significantly to improving patients' quality of life by supporting their recovery and promoting safe, effective physical therapy interventions in a home health setting.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Physical Therapist Assistant license or certification as required by the state of practice.
  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a home health care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
