Sun Auto Tire & Service is a reputable automotive service center dedicated to providing top-notch maintenance and repair services to our customers. We are currently seeking a skilled Express Lane Service Manager to join our team.

The Express Lane Service Manager is responsible for growing and overseeing operations in the Express lube service lanes. This role involves developing and supervising a team of lube service advisors and technicians, ensuring high-quality service delivery, maintaining customer satisfaction, and optimizing efficiency and productivity. The Lead must have strong leadership skills and supervisory experience. Some vehicle maintenance understanding or quick lube management experience preferred. The Lead will create lasting impressions and build loyal customers by using knowledge of products and services to educate and provide preventative maintenance direction. This role requires a detailed problem solver, with a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to make quick decisions. This requires a goal-oriented, strong leader, who can expo floor, while communicating with guests and technicians to provide a world-class service.

Starting at: $17.00/Hr. to $20.00/Hr.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision and Leadership: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of lube employees. Ensure all team members follow proper procedures and safety protocols.
  • Service Management: Oversee and coordinate all quick lube services, including oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, tire rotations, and other routine maintenance tasks.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all services are performed to the highest standards and in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company policies.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to understand their needs, explain services, provide estimates, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for lube employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate records of services performed, customer interactions, and inventory levels utilizing technology provided.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues or complaints from customers or team members promptly and effectively.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Ensure the quick lube area is kept clean, organized, and safe at all times. Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues, such as leaks, worn parts, or other maintenance needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure quality and accuracy in all services performed to identify and prevent potential issues in all positions of the quick lube.
  • Technical Skills: Some knowledge of vehicle maintenance and lubrication services.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Organizational Aptitude: Ability to learn organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, ability to work with hands above head, climbing stairs, and standing for extended periods, including with reasonable accommodations.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other technicians and service personnel.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications or technical training in automotive maintenance is a plus. Texas Inspector, MACs, etc.
  • Drivers License: Valid Drivers License
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year in supervisory service role.
  • Completion of a vocational training program in automotive technology is advantageous.

Working Conditions

  • Environment: Work is primarily performed in a service garage setting with exposure to various weather conditions, noise, and vehicle exhaust.
  • Schedule: Full-time position with potential for weekend and evening shifts.
