Position SummaryThe Air Export Agent is responsible for managing and coordinating international air freight export shipments from origin to destination. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of export documentation, compliance with regulations, communication with customers and overseas offices, and coordination with airlines, trucking companies, and warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage daily air export shipments.
  • Prepare and process export documentation, including:
    • Air Waybills (MAWB/HAWB)
    • Commercial Invoices
    • Packing Lists
    • Export Declarations
    • Shipping Instructions
  • Communicate with customers regarding shipment status, schedules, and documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate bookings with airlines and carriers to meet customer deadlines.
  • Monitor shipment movement and proactively resolve operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations, TSA requirements, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with overseas offices, agents, and customers to ensure smooth shipment delivery.
  • Work closely with warehouse personnel regarding cargo handling and shipment preparation.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and billing information.
  • Support rate quotations and operational reporting as needed.
  • Assist with customer service activities and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Experience in air freight forwarding, logistics, or international transportation preferred.
  • Knowledge of air export documentation and procedures.
  • Familiarity with AS400 or other freight forwarding systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift certification or willingness to be trained.
  • Multilingual ability (English, Japanese, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Experience handling key customer accounts.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and cargo handling.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required.
  • Ability to work in both office and warehouse environments.
  • Occasional use of warehouse equipment and forklift operations.
