Job description

As a Sr. Export Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring Honeywell Aerospace operates within the boundaries of export laws and regulations while maintaining a strong culture of compliance. You must be an experienced export licensing professional, as you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of export authorizations in support of Honeywell Aerospace's Export Compliance Program. You will serve as a subject matter expert on U.S. Export Regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) with a primary focus on export license applications, operational efficiency in supporting the business needs and sustainment of regulatory compliance. You will add value to the business by playing a significant role in developing and improving export licensing processes and tools to enable efficient adherence to export regulations, while supporting business objectives and goals.
You will report directly to our Export Compliance Manager, and you'll work a hybrid schedule friom our Arlington, VA location.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Administer OCR-EASE recordkeeping for export authorizations, including license maintenance, order releases, and audit trail documentation in accordance with regulatory retention requirements
  • Collaborate with Licensing Operations peers and internal business stakeholders to establish and refine best practices, drive process consistency, and contribute to internal metrics and reporting initiatives
  • Communicate procedural updates and regulatory changes through structured training sessions, written guidance, and targeted stakeholder communications
  • Develop, review, update, and implement export compliance procedures and associated forms to strengthen the Company's adherence to U.S. export laws and regulations
  • Draft, prepare, and conduct thorough reviews of complex export license applications, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with applicable regulatory requirements under the EAR and ITAR
  • Facilitate export-related internal and external audits, including data gathering, documentation support, and findings remediation
  • Partner with business and functional teams to ensure export compliance requirements are embedded in and adopted by operational processes
  • Provide export compliance training and regulatory guidance to Key Business Functional Groups including Authorization Owners, Customer Business Managers as needed
  • Proficiency in SAP/GTS to support business export transactions compliantly against export licenses while monitoring authorization scope and limitations
  • Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for business and functional personnel on export regulatory matters related to Export Licensing, delivering clear and actionable guidance

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in export compliance.
  • Experience with export regulations and licensing requirements.
  • Experience in conducting export compliance audits and assessments.
  • Expert knowledge of export regulations, including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC regulations.
  • Experience managing export license applications, classifications, and authorizations.
  • Experience in SAP/GTS
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and delivering compliance training.
  • Experience leading projects and using project management tools
  • Experience using the Microsoft Office Tools Suite.
