What is an experiential event manager?

An Experiential Event Manager is a professional who plans, coordinates, and executes immersive events designed to create memorable, interactive experiences for attendees. Their primary goal is to engage audiences with a brand or message through hands-on activities, live demonstrations, and creative environments. They handle all aspects of event production, including logistics, vendor coordination, budgeting, and on-site management, ensuring that every detail aligns with the client’s objectives. This role requires creativity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experiential Event Managers often work with marketing teams, agencies, or directly with brands to deliver impactful experiences that foster brand loyalty and engagement.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an experiential event manager?

To thrive as an Experiential Event Manager, you need expertise in event planning, project management, and a background in marketing or communications, often supported by a relevant degree or certifications like CMP (Certified Meeting Professional). Familiarity with event management software, budgeting tools, and digital engagement platforms is typically required. Creativity, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask under pressure help set outstanding managers apart. These skills ensure seamless execution of immersive events that engage audiences and effectively promote brand objectives.

What are some common challenges faced by experiential event managers when coordinating large-scale events?

Experiential Event Managers often encounter challenges such as managing multiple vendors, ensuring seamless communication among diverse teams, and adapting quickly to last-minute changes. Coordinating logistics for large crowds requires detailed planning to avoid bottlenecks and maintain a positive attendee experience. Additionally, balancing creativity with budget constraints and measuring event impact are essential aspects of the role that require strong organizational and analytical skills.

Job description

Experience Without Limits
Come shape the future of brand experience.

At Jack Morton, we design and build head-turning, smile-inducing, impact-driving brand experiences that redefine what experiential marketing can achieve. We help our clients unlock the full value of experiences by turning bold ideas into meaningful connections.

That takes a team that's bold, curious, and acts as one. We build on each other's ideas, challenge conventions, and show up for one another every day. Here, you'll do your best work, grow quickly, and partner across clients, disciplines, and global teams to bring new ideas to life.

This is a place where curiosity drives what's next, boldness raises the bar, and every win is shared. Where ownership is expected, egos are left at the door, and the work reflects the passion and talent of the people behind it.

Experience without limits—in your work, your growth, and your impact.

We're looking for a dynamic Senior Event Manager to lead the creation and execution of high-impact brand experiences. In this role, you'll take full ownership of events—from big-picture strategy and creative development to flawless on-site delivery and insightful post-event analysis.

As a key member of the Meetings & Events team, you'll collaborate closely with Account, Creative, Strategy, and Production partners to bring ideas to life and deliver experiences that exceed client expectations. You'll manage multiple programs simultaneously, oversee vendors and partners, control budgets, and serve as a trusted leader throughout every stage of the process.

What You'll Do

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of live and hybrid events, including trade shows, exhibitions, conferences, and experiential programs
  • Turn client goals into compelling event concepts and actionable plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and production schedules while negotiating with suppliers, venues, and service providers to maximize value
  • Oversee all event logistics, including registration, travel, accommodations, shipping/receiving, and on-site operations
  • Lead on-site execution, ensuring a seamless experience and exceptional results for clients and attendees
  • Analyze program performance and identify opportunities to optimize future events and drive growth
  • Mentor junior team members and collaborate effectively with internal staff and freelance partners

What You Bring

  • 6–8+ years of experience managing complex live events, trade shows, or experiential programs (agency experience is a plus)
  • Proven ability to manage projects from initial concept through execution, balancing multiple workstreams and stakeholders
  • Strong client-facing communication skills with confidence in decision-making and problem-solving
  • Demonstrated success managing budgets, vendors, and tight timelines in fast-paced environments

Nice to Have

  • Experience managing events with both U.S. and global components
  • Exposure to industries such as life sciences, technology, automotive, or B2B marketing
  • Familiarity with emerging trends in experiential marketing, attendee engagement, and event technology
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CMP) are a plus

Skills & Strengths

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail with a client-first mindset
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Proactive problem-solving and operational excellence
  • Proficiency with event platforms, digital tools, and event technology
