Job description

Who we are

The real world is the next frontier, and at Metropolis, we are creating the artificial intelligence to make it responsive. We are pioneering the Recognition Economy — a future where mundane repetition disappears and being known unlocks access, comfort, and belonging everywhere you go. From transforming parking into a seamless drive-in, drive-out experience for millions of Members to expanding our intelligence layer across retail and hospitality, we are building a world that feels instinctive and magical. The future isn't coming; it's here, and we need builders, innovators, and problem solvers to help us create it.

Who you are

Metropolis is seeking a Learning Experience Designer to support the creation of engaging, scalable, and effective learning experiences. In this role, you will collaborate with our L&D team and senior designers to translate complex learning needs into high-quality, learner-centered solutions. You will assist in developing course materials, video content, and training assets while partnering with subject matter experts to empower our workforce and build skills across a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

What you'll do
  • Assist in the design and development of learning programs, courses, and resources under the guidance of senior team members
  • Apply foundational instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to help create engaging learning experiences
  • Support the translation of content from subject matter experts into clear, accessible, and impactful learning materials
  • Contribute to the production of high-quality video learning content, including assisting with scripting, storyboarding, and basic editing using AI-driven and traditional tools
  • Support the administration of learning initiatives, including testing digital content, deploying surveys, and tracking engagement metrics
  • Help maintain and organize learning assets, toolkits, and job aids to ensure accessibility and alignment with L&D strategy
  • Participate in the evaluation of learning effectiveness by gathering feedback and analyzing learner data to identify areas for improvement
  • Stay current on learning technologies, AI tools, and L&D trends to bring fresh perspectives to the team
  • Prepare for the implementation of a new LMS within Workday by auditing existing content and partnering with SMEs to verify or iterate upon key learning pathways
What we're looking for
  • 1+ years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or related fields
  • Understanding of adult learning theory and basic instructional design models
  • Basic proficiency with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Rise 360, Articulate, Synthesia or similar)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously and meet SLA expectations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative mindset and desire to learn
  • Comfort with G Suite tools and a quick learner when it comes to new HR/LMS technology platforms
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to transform static workflows into responsive, high-output processes
While not required, these are a plus:
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Familiarity with creating multimedia or video-based content, including interest in or exposure to AI-enabled content creation tools
