Overview:

The Department of Social Work at Quinnipiac University invites applications for a dynamic and experienced professional to join the School of Health Sciences as a Field Education Coordinator for our Master of Social Work (MSW) program. In this highly impactful role, you will help shape the next generation of social work professionals by guiding and supporting students through their field education experiences-an essential component of their academic and professional development.

This is a full-time, 12-month, year-round position that requires an on-campus presence. The anticipated start date is as soon as the position is filled.

About the School/Program:

The School of Health Sciences is home to approximately 100 full-time faculty and professional staff and enrolls over 2120 students across over 20 graduate and undergraduate academic offerings. The school is organized into 8 departments offering undergraduate majors in biomedical sciences, health sciences, radiologic sciences, medical microbiology & Immunology and diagnostic medical sonography and graduate majors in physician assistant studies, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, biomedical sciences, pathologists' assistant and cardiovascular perfusion. Our school provides excellence in education, scholarship, and community engagement with a mission grounded in our commitment to producing skilled and compassionate graduates, creating pioneering research, and partnering with our communities to advance the health and well-being of people and communities. Responsibilities:

  • Support the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of Quinnipiac University and the School of Health Sciences, and the Department of Social Work
  • Assist the development and implementation of field education experiences for the MSW students.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of field placement sites for the MSW Program, including recruitment and mentoring of qualified field instructors and task supervisors.
  • Process applications for field education and coordinate placements for eligible MSW students.
  • Maintain field education records for MSW students.
  • Maintain field education records for field instructors, task supervisors, and field placement sites in the MSW Program.
  • Collaborate with Field Liaisons and Field Instructors on the resolution of any problems that may interfere with the successful completion of field education for MSW students in consultations with the Director of Field Education.
  • Provide remediation and field readiness for online students regarding MSW internships.
  • Work with the Director of Field Education in creating and facilitating orientations for students, field instructors, task supervisors, and field liaisons in the MSW Program.
  • Utilize appropriate technology to maintain data regarding status of MSW students and ensure compliance with field education hours and evaluations.
  • Participate in the Field Advisory and Community Outreach Committee of the Department of Social Work.
  • Coordinate with other Field Education Coordinators to prepare and disseminate the MSW field newsletter once per year.
  • Participate in MSW Program promotion via participation in graduate admissions activities, including open houses and orientations.
  • Act as designee for the Director of Field Education in the context of the MSW Program as needed.
  • Assist Director of Field Education with preparing field education materials during program reaccreditation process.

Education Requirements:

  • Must possess a master's degree in social work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program

Qualifications:

  • One-year of documented post-MSW social work practice experience
  • Knowledge of CSWE accreditation standards and procedures
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Post-MSW social work practice experience preferably be in the area of health and/or mental health
  • Experience with online social work field education is preferred
  • Commitment to contribute to the diversity and inclusive excellence of the academic community
  • Member of a social work organization
  • Student advising experience in MSW program
