Job description

The Center for Intelligent Water brings that purpose to life by connecting customers, partners, and Xylem experts to explore challenges, accelerate decisions, and strengthen the relationships that drive progress on the world's most critical water issues.

We are looking for a Manager, Content & Experience Design to lead the narrative, storytelling, and visitor experience architecture of the Center. You will work alongside subject matter experts, business leaders, designers, and external partners to translate Xylem’s strategy and customer impact into compelling physical and digital experiences, ensuring every visit reinforces our shared mission to solve the world’s water challenges.

Position: Manager, Content & Experience Design, Center for Intelligent Water (Hybrid/DC)

Salary: $95,000 to $110,000 plus bonus

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the Center’s narrative framework and visitor storytelling approach, translating Xylem’s strategy, innovation, and customer impact into engaging, accessible experiences.
  • Identify and curate stories, demonstrations, case studies, and content that showcase Xylem’s leadership across the water cycle.
  • Lead development of exhibit content, presentations, digital experiences, demonstrations, and visitor materials, coordinating with subject matter experts and business leaders to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Ensure all content remains current and aligned with Xylem’s brand, strategic priorities, and the real‑world water challenges our customers face.
  • Own content standards, narrative governance, and content approval processes for Center experiences, ensuring consistency across customer engagements while enabling appropriate visit‑level customization.
  • Partner with designers, exhibit developers, AV partners, and agencies to create visitor experiences that integrate physical, digital, and interactive elements seamlessly.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve how visitors experience the Xylem brand, incorporating feedback and performance data to raise the bar on engagement and impact.
  • Facilitate content development workshops and reviews with stakeholders, managing approvals and alignment processes across the organization.
  • Serve as the primary connection between internal experts and external design partners, ensuring the Center’s experiences reflect both technical depth and compelling human storytelling.
Qualifications
  • 5–10 years of experience in content strategy, experience design, communications, marketing, museum planning, visitor centers, or related fields.
  • Strong storytelling, facilitation, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to translate technical concepts into compelling customer narratives.
  • Familiarity with exhibit development, experiential marketing, or customer experience environments preferred.
