Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to provide leadership and oversight across multiple areas of our transportation organization.

Each department is led by an experienced manager. The Operations Manager will serve as the connection between these teams, ensuring strong communication, consistent processes, accountability, and alignment with company-wide goals.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can see the big picture, support and develop managers, remove operational roadblocks, and turn challenges into solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and hold department managers accountable for performance and results.
  • Coordinate priorities and communication across operational departments.
  • Monitor KPIs, identify trends, and turn data into actionable improvements.
  • Evaluate and improve workflows, procedures, and departmental handoffs.
  • Ensure operational goals align with company and customer expectations.
  • Resolve escalated staffing, service, driver, equipment, and customer issues.
  • Provide executive leadership with clear operational updates and recommendations.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of operations leadership experience.
  • Experience leading managers and overseeing multiple teams or business functions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience managing KPIs, operational reporting, and process improvements.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and team-development skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and remain composed under pressure.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a working leader who is willing to get into the details without micromanaging experienced managers. They are gritty, analytical, solutions-oriented, and confident enough to create accountability while building trust across teams.

This position requires someone with the heart, hustle, and leadership ability to turn complexity into clarity and help multiple departments operate as one successful team.
