Restaurant Controller

Salary: $140000 - $160000 per year

Location: San Antonio, Texas

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations across multiple legal entities
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Prepare and consolidate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)
  • Ensure full compliance with GAAP and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Establish and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Partner with external CPAs on tax filings, audits, and year-end reporting
  • Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and consolidations
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial performance
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while improving workflows and efficiency
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
  • Support leadership with financial modeling, strategic planning, and ad hoc analysis
  • Oversee AP, AR, payroll coordination, and general ledger functions
Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
  • Proven experience managing accounting for multi-unit restaurant / QSR / fast food operations and Restaurant365/R365 systems experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with consolidations and intercompany accounting
  • Proficiency in restaurant accounting systems and advanced Excel
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on

Preferred Experience

  • Background in privately held or family-owned restaurant businesses
  • Experience supporting multi-location operations
  • Exposure to growth environments, acquisitions, or entity expansion
