Controller – Restaurant Group
Overview
A fast-growing, people-first restaurant group is seeking a Controller to lead and elevate the company’s financial operations.
This role is ideal for a highly analytical, detail-oriented leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and views finance as a true partner to operations.
This individual will play a critical role in supporting field leadership, driving financial clarity, and helping the business scale with strong systems, discipline, and insight.
What You’ll Do
Financial Leadership & Oversight
- Own the full-cycle accounting process including month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger integrity
- Prepare and deliver accurate, timely financial statements and operational reporting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial controls
Operational Partnership
- Serve as a financial partner to operations teams across multiple locations
- Translate financial data into actionable insights for field leaders
- Support decision-making around labor, cost controls, and profitability
Systems & Process Improvement
- Lead and optimize financial systems, with a strong focus on Restaurant365
- Improve workflows, reporting capabilities, and data accuracy across the organization
- Help scale infrastructure to support company growth
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes
- Monitor key performance indicators and provide variance analysis
- Identify opportunities to improve margins and drive efficiencies
Team Leadership
- Build, develop, and mentor an accounting/finance team
- Foster a culture of accountability, support, and continuous improvement
- Partner cross-functionally with operations, HR, and executive leadership
What We’re Looking For
- Strong financial acumen with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality
- Proven experience in multi-unit restaurant, hospitality, or retail environments
- Advanced proficiency in Restaurant365 (required)
- Deep understanding of P&L management, cost controls, and operational finance
- Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to non-financial leaders
- High level of integrity, organization, and attention to detail
- Experience building processes in a growing or scaling organization
