Job description

At Apple, new ideas become extraordinary products - and the materials that make them possible start here. The Senior Manager of Global Supply Management for Strategic Raw Materials leads one of Apple's most complex supply chain organizations, spanning titanium, aluminum, metal powders for additive manufacturing, and rare earth elements at the heart of Apple's magnet supply chains. This portfolio touches virtually every Apple product, across a supply base of significant global breadth and complexity and focuses on enabling Apple’s mechanical enclosure parts supply chain.
This is a senior leadership role at the intersection of commercial strategy, supplier development, and executive engagement - both inside Apple and with its most critical global manufacturing and material partners.
Description
You will lead a team of high-performing Global Supply Managers responsible for Apple's most strategic raw material supply chains. Your organization owns supplier relationships from upstream sourcing through manufacturing partner integration - driving commercial strategy, supply resilience, and operational excellence across a truly global supply base. Your team enables the materials which are at the heart of many of Apple’s most important mechanical enclosure parts across all lines of business.
A defining dimension of this role is shaping Apple's global manufacturing strategy for strategic raw materials - partnering with suppliers and internal stakeholders to develop domestic supply capabilities that are resilient, cost-competitive, and aligned with Apple's long-term product roadmap.
This leader engages Apple's most strategic manufacturing and material partners at the executive level, and operates with influence across Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, Operations, Planning, Finance, and Supply Quality. Great leaders in this organization are equally at home in a board-level commercial negotiation, on a supplier factory floor, and in a cross-functional product review.","responsibilities":"Define and own Apple's global strategic materials supply strategy - including aluminum, titanium, 3D printing metal powders, and rare earth magnet block programs - from upstream raw material sourcing through manufacturing partner integration
Lead complex, high-value commercial negotiations - multi-year agreements, pricing structures, capacity agreements, and technology partnerships - achieving best-in-class outcomes across cost, supply assurance, quality, and technology access
Lead Apple's global manufacturing strategy for strategic raw materials, developing and scaling domestic supply capabilities across multiple material categories in alignment with Apple's product, resiliency, and policy priorities
Build and lead a team of high-performing GSMs - setting strategic direction, developing capability, driving accountability, and maintaining Apple's standards of excellence
Engage Apple's manufacturing and material supply partners at the executive level, cultivating the strategic relationships that underpin Apple's most critical supply chains
Own Apple's rare earth and magnet block supply chain strategy, ensuring resilience across the full magnet value chain in partnership with engineering teams
Drive supply chain resiliency programs across the portfolio - identifying single-source exposure, geopolitical risk, and capacity vulnerabilities, and executing countermeasures proactively
Scale new supply chains across emerging technology spaces and geographies - building the commercial and operational foundations to bring novel manufacturing processes to Apple-scale production
Partner seamlessly across Apple's global supply chain organization and key functional stakeholders to ensure materials strategy is tightly integrated with Apple's product roadmap
Serve as Apple's internal subject matter authority on strategic metals and raw materials - advising senior leadership on market dynamics, supply risks, competitive intelligence, industrial policy, and strategic options
Drive supply chain sustainability commitments within the materials portfolio - including responsible sourcing, recycled content integration, and Scope 3 emissions progress - in partnership with Apple's environmental teams
Ensure supply planning accuracy and discipline across the portfolio, delivering the right materials at the right time, cost, and quality to support Apple's product launches
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships at the executive level and negotiating major commercial agreements
Proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams in a global, cross-functional environment
Outstanding commercial negotiation skills - strategic in framing, rigorous in preparation, and confident under pressure
Executive-level communication skills - crisp, credible, and calibrated to every audience, from factory floor to Apple's most senior leadership
Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders across engineering, design, operations, and finance without direct authority
Experience leading supply chain resiliency programs, including risk assessment, scenario planning, and executive-level reporting
Ability to operate fluidly across long-range strategic thinking and granular operational execution
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of management experience leading high-performing supply chain, sourcing, or engineering teams
12+ years in supply chain development, strategic sourcing, supplier management, or a strong engineering background in materials or advanced manufacturing
Deep hands-on knowledge of metal or raw material supply chains - including one or more of: aluminum, titanium, steel, rare earth elements, magnet supply chains, or metal powder/additive manufacturing
