Job description

Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.


Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Communicate, coordinate, facilitate and enable positional and senior functional leaders to make effective program level business decisions.
  • Manage long-term projects, enable leadership success to meet their business goals & objectives by creating a culture of accountability.
  • Develop and manage an integrated program schedule covering equipment design, build, delivery, installation, qualification, and production readiness.
  • Ensure capital equipment meets defined capacity, throughput, quality, and timing requirements
  • Oversee equipment and first part qualification (FPQ) activities.
  • Identify and mitigate program-level risks related to equipment and facilities readiness.
  • Coordinate across Facilities, Tooling, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Material and Process Engineering (M&PE), and external suppliers.
  • Prepare and present capital equipment status updates during executive program review.
  • Capture decisions made, actions taken, and distribute minutes.
  • Lead discussion on prioritization of improvement activities following the standard guidelines.
  • Integrate all projects for appropriate visibility and accountability.
  • Review and elevate project opportunities, risks, and help needed.
  • Ensure resource alignment.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 2 to 4 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 of more years of related experience.
  • PMP or other PMI Certification.
  • Individual project management and tracking as part of a larger portfolio.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet.
  • Ability to create and present in depth presentations to executive level management.
  • Schedule development by project appropriate to project scope.
  • Technical background to be able to work with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to integrate large multi-year projects and small near-term projects.
  • Business acumen to quantify implications of projects and the ability to coordinate with Finance on tracking to plan.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with all staff levels, including executive leaders.
  • Ability to manage with influence and provide leadership throughout multiple teams simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously (coordination, status and performance to plan).
  • Cross-functional coordination and leadership to achieve project goals.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster business partnerships with internal customers.
  • Preferred knowledge of manufacturing environment, lean processing, and industrial engineering concepts.

Summary Pay Range - Associate (Level 2): $60,2000 - $92,3000
