What is an executive procurement?

An Executive Procurement is a senior professional responsible for overseeing and managing an organization's purchasing and supply chain activities. This role involves developing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts with suppliers, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, and maintaining quality standards. Executive Procurement professionals often lead a team, collaborate with other departments, and work to optimize the sourcing of goods and services to support the organization's goals. Their expertise helps organizations reduce costs, mitigate risks, and maintain strong supplier relationships.

How does an executive procurement professional typically collaborate with other departments to achieve organizational goals?

Executive Procurement professionals frequently work cross-functionally with teams such as finance, legal, operations, and supply chain. They coordinate with these departments to align purchasing strategies with budgetary constraints, compliance requirements, and production needs. Effective collaboration ensures timely sourcing of quality materials and services, risk management, and the negotiation of favorable terms. This teamwork is essential for driving cost savings and supporting the company’s broader objectives.

This includes traveling to offsite locations 3-4 times per year, preparing and transporting all necessary backup equipment, and ensuring a flawless technical experience for all board members.

  • Orchestrate and deliver flawless IT execution for high-profile events, including Executive Leadership Meetings, Global Town Halls, and investor meetings, managing everything from video setup to live streaming support.

  • Provide rapid, proactive, and highly personalized support for executive laptops, mobile devices, collaboration technologies, conferencing systems, and peripherals.

  • Build trusted relationships with executives and executive assistants by understanding individual technology preferences and business needs.

  • Serve as the IT Site owner for Elanco Global Headquarters.

  • Ensure conference rooms, executive meeting spaces, collaboration areas, and training facilities remain fully operational and production-ready.

  • Provide basic technical support for social media initiatives, including assistance with video content and other digital media as needed.

  • Partner closely with Global IT teams to align local technology services with enterprise standards.

  • Manage third-party vendors and ensure contracted service levels are consistently achieved.

  • Oversee local IT procurement and manage selective internal processes.

  • Develop and monitor KPIs for service delivery, customer satisfaction, response times, and operational excellence.

  • 7+ years of enterprise IT support experience in a mid-to-large corporate environment.

  • A minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience providing 'white-glove' IT support directly to C-level executives, their direct reports, and executive assistants.

  • Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership for high-stakes corporate events, including offsite Board of Directors meetings, shareholder meetings, and all-hands town halls.

  • Strong experience supporting: Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams & Teams Rooms hardware, Lenovo laptops, Apple macOS, iPhone/iPad, Enterprise printing, and basic networking/AV technologies.

  • Experience using ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management platforms.

  • Experience managing IT vendors and procurement activities.

  • Outstanding troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving abilities.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently interact with executive leadership.

  • Willingness to provide frequent after-hours and on-call support as dictated by executive and business needs.

Preferred Qualifications (Competitive Edge)

Candidates with one or more of the following qualifications will be highly regarded:

  • ITIL Foundation Certification.

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or equivalent certifications.

  • Business Relationship Management (BRM) experience.

  • Customer Success or Executive Technology Support experience.
