Description

The Operations Director is responsible for leading and overseeing company-wide operational functions to ensure efficiency, scalability, and high-quality service delivery. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership across multiple departments, including direct oversight of the Service team, and manages a large group of direct and indirect reports. The Operations Director drives operational performance, ensures compliance with company policies and safety standards, and partners with senior leadership to support organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership for all operational functions, including service, field operations, logistics, facilities, and operational support teams
  • Directly manage multiple department leaders, supervisors, and managers, including oversight of the Service team
  • Establish operational goals, KPIs, and performance metrics aligned with company objectives
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational processes, procedures, and workflows
  • Ensure high levels of service quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction across operations
  • Oversee workforce planning, staffing levels, scheduling strategies, and labor efficiency
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on operational strategy, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Monitor department budgets, operational costs, and financial performance; identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and applicable labor laws
  • Lead performance management processes, including coaching, mentoring, evaluations, and corrective action
  • Support change management initiatives and drive adoption of new systems, tools, and processes
  • Act as a key escalation point for service, operational, or personnel issues
  • Prepare and present operational reports and updates to executive leadership
  • Perform other duties and strategic initiatives as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
  • 7+ years of progressive operations leadership experience, including management of managers
  • Demonstrated experience leading large, cross-functional teams, including service or field-based teams
  • Strong understanding of operational metrics, process improvement, and performance management
  • Proven ability to lead in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency with operational systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience in service-driven, logistics, field service, or operationally complex environments
  • Experience supporting multi-site or geographically dispersed teams
  • Exposure to ERP, CRM, workforce management, or scheduling systems
  • Primarily office-based with regular interaction across departments and job sites
  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods
  • Occasional travel to company locations, service sites, or meetings as needed
