Job description

Join Our Aiken Team as an Emergency Medicine Physician - A Role Designed for You
Sound Physicians is a physician-founded and led, patient-first medical group grounded in one belief: better support for clinicians leads to better care for patients. Our emergency medicine teams are empowered to lead care locally with the backing of a strong national network committed to clinical excellence, intentional leadership development, and collaborative partnership. Here, you'll practice alongside care teams that work seamlessly across Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, and Critical Care-creating smoother transitions, stronger accountability, and better outcomes for the communities we serve.
If you're looking for a place where your clinical judgment is valued, your growth is supported, and your work truly makes a difference, we'd love to talk.
Local Team Collaboration:
  • Work with a friendly, cohesive team of 16 physicians and 9 APPs at Aiken Regional Medical Center and in the ER at Sweetwater.
  • Join a diverse team with a broad spectrum of expertise and experience.
  • Engage in hospital committees, including credentials, medical executive, sepsis, peer review, and citizenship committees, to contribute meaningfully to the organization's success.
  • Accountable, on-site leadership: a local medical director who knows the community and owns the department's performance, supported by Sound's leadership-development tools.
  • Stable, well-staffed teams: cohesive teams aligned on our patient-first culture of excellence, which means less reliance on premium temp labor and more predictable shifts.

Qualifications:
  • Board-certified/eligible in emergency medicine.
  • A collaborative team player with a patient-centered approach.

Scheduling:
  • Opportunities for part-time and full-time roles, accommodating your professional and personal needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide coverage for Aiken Regional Medical Center's 30-bed emergency department and the newly built 10-bed free-standing emergency department at Sweetwater in North Augusta, South Carolina.
  • Manage all aspects of community emergency medicine, collaborating closely with colleagues and consultants.
  • Practice in a 273-bed community hospital and certified chest pain and stroke center equipped to deliver high-quality care.

Living and Working in Aiken:
  • Aiken, South Carolina, offers a unique blend of southern hospitality, equestrian culture, and picturesque landscapes.
  • Enjoy a slower pace of life in a vibrant community that values tradition and modernity.

Compensation:
  • 1099 compensation
