International Logistics Specialist | Fast-Growing Aerospace Company #1201

Keller Executive Search

Cincinnati, OH

$75/hr

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Posted 17 days ago

Job description

A scaling aerospace firm has an opening for an International Logistics Specialist based out of its Cincinnati facility. The organization builds and ships ground support equipment, ranging from engine stands and purpose-built tooling through to asset-management offerings, for airlines, MROs, and defense clients across the globe. Supported by a long-standing parent group, the company has reached an important inflection point in its growth, launching fresh operations throughout Mexico, Europe, and Asia. Cincinnati serves as the nerve center for distribution and logistics.

In this seat, the movement of goods between countries is yours to run. You'll manage freight coming in from the parent company and suppliers worldwide, direct both drop-ship and standard deliveries out to customers, and contribute to the logistics backbone that makes new market entry possible. Expect a role with real prominence and measurable influence, where what you deliver feeds straight into how far and fast the company grows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Keep operations aligned with U.S. export rules (EAR, plus ITAR when relevant), correct HTS coding, Incoterms, duties, and tariffs
  • Schedule and route freight internationally and domestically by air, sea, and road, spanning drop-ship as well as direct-to-customer delivery
  • Create and write up the logistics playbook that supports newly launched international operations
  • Assemble and verify cross-border shipping paperwork such as commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, and hazardous-goods records
  • Follow shipments through every stage and clear up delays, customs holds, and other snags before they reach the customer
  • Keep ERP and logistics system data clean and current, and report against headline measures like cost, transit time, and on-time performance
  • Look after working relationships with forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers, securing competitive rates and untangling service breakdowns
  • Work hand in hand with procurement, customer service, and quality teams to keep shipping synced with order deadlines

Requirements

Essential

  • Available to work full-time and on-site within the Cincinnati, OH region
  • At least 3 years spent in international logistics, freight forwarding, or import/export
  • Direct experience partnering with freight forwarders and customs brokers
  • A sound understanding of cross-border shipping documents, Incoterms, and the mechanics of customs clearance
  • Highly organized and detail-driven, able to keep many live shipments moving at the same time
  • Working knowledge of U.S. export-compliance rules (EAR) and HTS classification
  • Articulate in both writing and speech
  • Capable user of ERP or transportation/logistics management software

Preferred

  • An understanding of ITAR and how export-controlled items are handled
  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, international business, or something closely related
  • Exposure to aerospace, aviation, or ground support equipment (a definite plus)
  • Conversational Spanish, useful as the company grows its presence in Mexico
  • Prior involvement in standing up logistics for new locations or overseas markets
  • Qualifications along the lines of Certified Customs Specialist, Licensed Customs Broker, or APICS/CLTD
  • Hazmat or dangerous-goods certification (IATA or IMDG)

Benefits

  • Compensation: $55 000 - $75 000 per annum
  • Two weeks of accrued paid vacation, plus five paid sick days
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, effective the first of the month after your start date
  • 401(k) with a 5% company match, with eligibility after three months
  • Strong support for professional development, including structured training programs
  • The chance to join a fast-growing company during a major international expansion, with real influence over how the global logistics function is built
