Job description

A growing aerospace company is hiring an International Logistics Specialist for its Cincinnati operation. The company designs and distributes ground support equipment, including engine stands, specialized tooling, and asset-management solutions, for commercial airlines, MROs, and defense organizations around the world. It is backed by an established parent company and is entering a major growth phase, with new operations launching across Mexico, Europe, and Asia. The Cincinnati site serves as the distribution and logistics hub for the business.

In this role, you'll own the movement of product across borders. You'll coordinate inbound shipments from the parent company and global suppliers, manage direct and drop-ship fulfillment to customers, and help build the logistics processes that support new international markets. This is a high-visibility role with real impact, and your work will directly enable the company's expansion.

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate international and domestic shipments by air, ocean, and ground, including drop-ship and direct fulfillment to customers
  • Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers, negotiating rates and resolving service issues
  • Prepare and review international shipping documents: commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, and dangerous-goods paperwork
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations (EAR, and ITAR where applicable), proper HTS classification, Incoterms, duties, and tariffs
  • Track shipments end-to-end and resolve delays, customs holds, and exceptions before they affect customers
  • Build and document logistics processes to support new international operations
  • Partner with procurement, customer service, and quality teams to keep logistics aligned with order timelines
  • Maintain accurate records in ERP and logistics systems, and report on key metrics such as cost, transit time, and on-time delivery

Requirements

Essential

  • 3+ years of international logistics, freight forwarding, or import/export experience
  • Working knowledge of international shipping documents, Incoterms, and the customs clearance process
  • Familiarity with U.S. export-compliance rules (EAR) and HTS classification
  • Experience coordinating with freight forwarders and customs brokers
  • Proficiency with ERP or transportation/logistics management systems
  • Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage many active shipments at once
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Able to work on-site, full-time, in the Cincinnati, OH area

Preferred

  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, or ground support equipment (strongly preferred)
  • Knowledge of ITAR and the handling of export-controlled items
  • Experience setting up logistics for new facilities or international markets
  • Dangerous goods or hazmat certification (IATA or IMDG)
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Customs Specialist, Licensed Customs Broker, or APICS/CLTD
  • Conversational Spanish, a plus given the company's expanding operations in Mexico
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, international business, or a related field

Benefits

  • Compensation: $55 000 - $75 000 per annum
  • Two weeks of accrued paid vacation, plus five paid sick days
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, effective the first of the month after your start date
  • 401(k) with a 5% company match, with eligibility after three months
  • Strong support for professional development, including structured training programs
  • The chance to join a fast-growing company during a major international expansion, with real influence over how the global logistics function is built
