Job description

Graphic Designer Job Summary:

Sparks Group is partnering with a premier technology and management consulting organization in McLean, VA to identify a Graphic Designer for a long-term, hybrid contract opportunity. As a Graphic Designer, you will be tasked with creating visually compelling, executive-ready materials while contributing to the usability and intuitiveness of system product interfaces to support process improvements and stakeholder engagement. This role partners closely with program managers, business process and change management leads, and subject matter experts to craft high-impact PowerPoint decks, executive briefings, one-pagers, digital assets, and to help improve user workflows by refining field labels, click actions, and process clarity to support a systems implementation. This role will translate complex transformation topics into clear, persuasive visual narratives aligned to brand, accessibility, and user experience standards.

Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be U.S. citizens.

Graphic Designer Responsibilities:

  • Design and produce high-impact PowerPoint decks for leadership reviews, steering committees, and program milestones, including storyline development, slide architecture, visual hierarchy, and data visualization.
  • Create executive briefing materials (e.g., concise briefing decks, one-pagers, speaker notes, and talking points) that enable quick, informed decision-making by senior stakeholders.
  • Develop templates, theme files, and master slides; maintain an asset library consistent with Booz Allen brand guidelines, style, and tone.
  • Translate complex concepts (e.g., CLM, S2P, ERP and integration topics) into clear visuals and infographics tailored to executive audiences.
  • Partner with PMs, writers, and SMEs to gather inputs, iterate rapidly, and meet tight deadlines and review cycles.
  • Ensure accessibility (e.g., Section 508 considerations), readability, and export-readiness across all deliverables.
  • Prepare materials and support live executive briefings (timed animations, rehearsal decks, last mile QA; virtual or in-room).
  • Manage concurrent requests, prioritize effectively, and uphold version control and file hygiene within SharePoint/Teams.
  • Monitor design trends and tool capabilities; recommend improvements to elevate visual communication across programs.
  • Protect confidential information and adhere to compliance and information security practices.
  • Collaborate with PMs, business analysts, and key stakeholders to ensure configured fields, labels, workflows, and click paths are intuitive and aligned with end-user needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend adjustments to out-of-the-box configurations to improve process efficiency and usability.
  • Partner with the Change Management Team to engage users and stakeholders to validate recommendations and refine designs based on feedback.
  • Produce process visuals, wireframes, or simple prototypes to illustrate proposed field and navigation adjustments that simplify user interactions out of the box.

Graphic Designer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in digital experience design, web design, visual or interface design, or UX design, including leadership responsibility.
  • Experience designing polished, modern, content-rich digital experiences for major brands, organizations, or marketing properties at large scale, built on enterprise content management systems.
  • Experience with visual and interface design skills, including typography, layout, composition, responsive design, interaction, and the effective integration of imagery, video, and motion.
  • Experience with UX fundamentals, including information architecture, interaction design, usability, accessibility, and user-centered design principles.
  • Experience translating brand systems, content, and creative assets into effective digital interfaces and experiences.
  • Experience defining, implementing, and evolving digital design systems and UI pattern libraries.
  • Experience leading design teams and delivering digital experiences at enterprise scale, including providing design direction and critique while remaining comfortable contributing directly to design work.
  • Knowledge of analytics, A/B testing, performance optimization, digital channel metrics, and experience measurement.
  • Ability to present a portfolio of visually compelling digital experiences, including marketing websites, content experiences, or other brand-led web work demonstrating strong visual and interface design judgment, UX fundamentals, and high-quality execution.
