Data Scientist

The Data Scientist position is a hands-on role to execute on multiple data and advanced analytics initiatives managed by Data Management Office. We are looking for a data science practitioner to drive our data-driven decision-making process from business analysis, data exploratory analysis, machine learning model building, automation of actionable insights for sales and senior executives. He/she should be a self-starter and team player, and should be able to support activities with minimal supervision support.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Process, analyze, and label various unstructured data sources from disparate systems (pdf, word, etc); collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and comprehensive data labeling.
  • Utilize OCR tools and methodologies to effectively extract data from image-based content
  • Implement advanced techniques for data cleaning, tokenization, stemming, and other text pre-processing methods for model fine-tuning.
  • Manage and enhance the existing LLMs to fit client's specific needs for unstructured data extraction from various input data sources.
  • Develop, implement and fine-tune/scale Client models to generate predictive and/or prescriptive analytics
  • Test and assess continuously the performance of the trained models on new and existing data, ensuring they meet the bank's requirements for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Implement strategies to overcome challenges related to limited data and lack of labeled datasets; techniques to artificially augment data or sourcing more representative samples.
  • Clearly communicate the findings, insights, and the capabilities of the models to senior executives and business stakeholders, ensuring that the outcomes align with the program objectives.
Experience and Skills Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience in Data Science, AI, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in natural language processing or related fields.
  • Proficiency with prevalent NLP libraries and tools.
  • Experience in statistical programming languages such as Python, R & SQL
  • Understanding different types of Client algorithms (for e.g. supervised, unsupervised, etc.)
  • Demonstrated expertise with OCR tools and strategies, especially in data extraction from image-based sources.
  • Must have strong communication skills and suitable in teamwork environment
  • Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and deliver within tight deadlines.
  • Bilingual (English and Mandarin, speaking and writing), is preferred, but not mandatory
