Job description

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SPRING/SUMMER OF 2026

This internship puts you on the front lines of applied sports science. You won't be watching from the sidelines - you'll be collecting real-time force plate data, analyzing movement patterns, and helping drive the feedback loop that shapes how elite pitchers train. As a Sports Science Data Intern at Tread Athletics, you'll gain hands-on experience with the same tech used by top performance labs - including VALD force plates, force frames, InBody scans, and athlete readiness surveys - all while learning how data directly influences decision-making at the highest level.

This internship isn't about fetching coffee or sitting on the sidelines. It's a chance to be in the trenches - collecting real-time force plate data, analyzing movement outputs, and helping shape the performance profiles of some of the top pitchers in the world. We're looking for detail-oriented, tech-savvy interns who are hungry to learn, ready to contribute, and passionate about applying sports science in a high-performance environment.

If you're driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about bridging the gap between science and sport, this is your opportunity to get in the game.

Responsibilities:
  • Data Collection: Assist in setting up and operating equipment such as force plates, motion capture systems, and other performance monitoring tools during athlete performance testing.
  • Data Management: Ensure accurate recording, labeling, and storage of collected data for subsequent analysis.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside our performance team to help problem-solve better scheduling systems and operations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Participate in the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sports science equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Reporting: Contribute to the creation of reports and presentations that communicate data insights to the performance team.

  • Punctuality and Reliability
  • Attention to Detail
  • Professionalism
  • Adaptability
