What are executive coaches?

Executive coaches are professionals who work with business leaders, managers, and executives to help them enhance their leadership skills, improve performance, and achieve professional goals. They use various techniques such as one-on-one sessions, feedback, and goal-setting to support personal and organizational growth. Executive coaches often assist clients with challenges like communication, decision-making, and work-life balance. Their guidance can lead to increased confidence, better team management, and more effective leadership within an organization.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Executive Coach, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Executive Coach, you need a background in organizational development, leadership theory, and often a relevant degree or coaching certification, such as ICF or EMCC credentials. Familiarity with assessment tools like 360-degree feedback, psychometric instruments, and coaching platforms is also important. Exceptional listening, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build trust are standout soft skills in this role. These skills and qualifications are crucial for guiding leaders effectively, fostering personal growth, and driving lasting organizational impact.

What is the difference between Executive Coaches vs Career Coaches?

Both roles require strong coaching credentials but serve different client needs and environments.

How do Executive Coaches typically collaborate with organizational leadership and other stakeholders?

Executive Coaches often work closely with organizational leaders, such as CEOs, senior managers, and HR professionals, to align coaching objectives with business goals. They regularly communicate with stakeholders to assess progress, gather feedback, and ensure that coaching strategies support both individual and company-wide development. This collaborative approach helps foster trust, maintain transparency, and drive meaningful change within the organization, making it essential for coaches to have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

A Little Bit About Us: You might know us from our founder and CEO, Dave Ramsey, who’s given no-nonsense money advice on the radio since 1992. Three decades later, Ramsey Solutions is a household name in personal finance, with a mission to change the toxic money culture for good.

Our Mission: Ramsey Solutions provides biblically based, commonsense education and empowerment that give HOPE to everyone in every walk of life.

Here’s a Taste of Our Benefits:

  • Health insurance (includes plans eligible for an HSA—with a company match up to $500!)
  • 401(k) retirement plan with 4% match/company contribution
  • Annual wellness, counseling and grocery membership reimbursement
  • On-campus cafe with subsidized pricing for breakfast, lunch and coffee bar
  • Dependent care FSA
  • Tons of cultural activities, like weekly devotional, leadership development courses, Battle of the Bands, and one epic Christmas party!

Where and How You’d Work:

Ramsey Solutions Headquarters is located just outside of Nashville in Franklin, Tennessee. We value our strong, unified company culture because we believe the best work is done together. That’s why all of our team members work on-site under the same roof. But work-life balance is also important to us, so we offer flexible work schedules to take the stress out of appointments, family obligations and other needs that may pop up.

While every team member has a designated workspace (with an electronic sit-stand desk), our campus was designed to house a variety of unique work and play zones (e.g., quiet library space, coffee bar/lounge areas, recreational game zone, and outside/patio work and break areas).

What You’d Do in This Role:
In this role you would take business owners and help turn them into business leaders. You would bring a deep passion for EntreLeadership and the principles we teach, using them as the foundation to guide and equip others. This position calls for someone who is hungry, humble, and smart, driven by the desire to help others succeed.
You would share proven tools and strategies with leaders, encouraging and challenging them to grow in both character and competence. By coaching with clarity, empathy, and accountability, you would make a positive impact on the businesses and lives of those you serve.

You’re Probably a Match If:

  • You align with our Core Values and live them out daily
  • You have the ability to conduct one-on-one coaching sessions with business owners over Zoom
  • You’re passionate about helping business owners grow into business leaders using EntreLeadership principles
  • You can successfully manage and maintain a roster of 20–30 clients at a time
  • You have the skills and confidence to sell and facilitate on-site workshops
  • You enjoy collaborating with a coaching team to serve clients and continually sharpen your craft

What Winning Looks Like:

  • You have completed an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Accredited Coach Training Program or an equivalent program, ensuring a strong foundation in coaching best practices.
  • You hold (or are actively pursuing) ICF Certification, which demonstrates your commitment to excellence and credibility as a coach.
  • You bring at least 1+ year of coaching experience or 100+ hours of one-on-one coaching, giving you the confidence and skill to work with business leaders effectively.
  • You consistently demonstrate active listening, creating space for clients to share openly and arrive at insights that drive change.
  • You are comfortable using tools such as 360 assessments to provide leaders with clarity and actionable feedback.
  • You communicate with clarity and impact, with proven experience facilitating workshops and presenting content—whether in person, in groups, or on camera.
  • You are willing and able to travel when needed, serving clients and representing EntreLeadership with professionalism and excellence.

Other Stuff to Know:

We’re looking for people who are passionate about our mission. This isn’t just a J-O-B. We experience resistance every day because what we believe is absolutely countercultural. We actually hate debt. We actually cut up our credit cards . . . like, for real. Some of us are still fighting our way out of debt, but we aren’t going back.
