Job Description

Out prep cooks are responsible for setting up workstations in the kitchen and preparing ingredients for the cooking process.   The prep cook is required to perform basic cooking duties as well as monitor stock levels.  To be a successful prep cook, you will be quick and diligent and be able to follow instruction and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and sanitizing workstations.
  • Following prep lists created by chefs.
  • Measuring ingredients and seasonings and preparing cooking ingredients such as soup stock to be used in the cooking process.
  • Preparing simple dishes, such as entrees or salads.
  • Ensuring all food items are properly stored and easily accessible.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a prep cook preferred
  • Safe food handling techniques are required
  • Ability to read and understand recipes
  • Work in a team environment
  • Work flexible shifts
  • Handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing.
