Job description

The Texas Account Executive is responsible for the sale of commercial carpet and other sales-related activities within the stated geography. This position is a generalist position servicing all customer categories including commercial interior designers and architects (A&D), flooring contractors/carpet dealers (Dealers) and corporate clients including health care, education, government, religious (End Users). Qualified candidates should live within a 30 radius of the city of Houston, TX.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible to meet sales forecasts with a balanced approach to the business in the areas of product category mix between carpet, Kinetex and hard surface.
  • Responsible to work all three customer categories, flooring contractors, design and end use to capture the most market share possible within the territory.
  • Identify sales opportunities through new construction and refurbishing of facilities, offices and other projects. Leads are generated through developing relationships with key specifiers including architects, designers and commercial flooring contractors.
  • Establish relationships with Strategic Accounts Executives to promote geographical growth of strategic accounts.
  • Provide sales and marketing services in the marketplace including sales calls, supply of marketing materials and support, sales presentations, designer luncheons, etc.
  • Move product through the sales process which includes specification, bidding, and supplying.
  • Maintain status and service on job bids and current specifications in order to secure projects that are in process.
  • Establish key relationships and networking opportunities through customer service activities and through participation in trade and community organizations. Membership and participation in an industry trade association, IFMA, BOMA, or IIDA, is mandatory.
  • Customer data updated daily, (including email address, phone numbers, and project information) into Quest-CRM system.
  • Other task as directed by Regional Vice President

Experience/Education Requirements:
  • Three to five years of experience in outside sales within the commercial interior industry and evidence of sustained effectiveness and success is preferred.
  • College degree is preferred.

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to work 8 - 10 hours, five days per week in the sales field.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings or evenings when necessary. Entertainment of clients is expected on a weekly basis.
  • Monthly overnight travel as needed, approximately once per month.
  • Occasional overnight travel to regional meetings and sales training will be required.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
  • Lifting of architect folders and carpet samples is frequently required with the possibility of weights up to 25 lbs.
  • Some pushing and pulling may be required to move samples and supplies.
