Byrne & Jones Construction operates across the Midwest and continues to grow in the Kansas City area. We are a family of companies that focus on asphalt, concrete, sports, and micro-surfacing. We work on projects ranging from small asphalt repairs to large commercial construction projects. Byrne & Jones Construction can handle everything outside of the building; no job is too big or too small.
We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Paving Sales professional with strong local market knowledge, established industry relationships, and a proven ability to generate profitable business within the region. This role is responsible for expanding our presence in the local Kansas City market, developing long-term customer relationships, identifying bid opportunities, and driving revenue growth for asphalt paving and pavement maintenance services.
The ideal candidate is well-connected in the local construction community, understands the regional paving market, and can quickly build trust with customers. We are looking for a professional who is highly motivated, relationship-driven, and capable of producing immediate sales results through existing contacts and local business development efforts.
Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage existing local relationships and industry contacts to generate new paving and pavement maintenance opportunities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial property managers, HOAs, municipalities, developers, schools, warehouses, retail centers, and general contractors in the local area
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, local events, and market outreach
  • Conduct on-site evaluations and prepare accurate estimates and proposals for paving and related services
  • Manage the sales process from lead generation through contract execution and project completion
  • Collaborate closely with Management and the Operations teams to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
  • Maintain an active pipeline of commercial, municipal, and private-sector opportunities
  • Monitor local market conditions, competitor activity, and bid opportunities
  • Represent the company professionally within the community and industry associations

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of successful sales experience in asphalt paving, pavement maintenance, construction, or related industries
  • Established relationships and a strong professional network within the local paving market
  • Proven track record of developing and closing commercial paving projects
  • Strong knowledge of asphalt paving, sealcoating, striping, concrete, and site repair services
  • Experience with local municipalities, property management companies, and general contractors preferred
  • Ability to read plans, specifications, and bid documents
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer relationship skills
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout the service area
