Job description

Join the fast-growing MLB Local Media team within the Sponsorship Sales division of Major League Baseball. We are seeking an energetic, experienced, and driven Account Executive to represent MLBs owned and operated Regional Sports Networks (RSNs), as well as national media offerings, across both linear and streaming platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge sports media organization, helping to grow revenue through innovative, multi-platform advertising and sponsorship solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, pitch, negotiate, and close sales for advertising and sponsorship opportunities across MLB's Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) and national media portfolio, including both linear TV and digital/streaming platforms
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, lasting relationships with key decision-makers at agencies and clients, focusing on expanding opportunities across local and national inventory while driving consistent quarterly revenue growth to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Work closely with national sales, local sales, programming, marketing, and operations teams to maximize integrated, multimedia revenue opportunities across MLB's full media ecosystem
  • Proactively research and identify new business opportunities to expand MLB's reach with targeted advertisers and agencies, leveraging both regional and national assets
  • Develop strategic, cross-platform proposals that incorporate RSNs, national media, and digital extensions to deliver measurable value for clients
  • Mentor and guide support staff, ensuring efficient management of proposals, deal stewardship, and post-sale analysis to ensure client satisfaction and campaign success
  • Travel as needed to meet with clients and prospects

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in media sales, with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving new business across both local and national accounts
  • Strong understanding of the advertising market, including traditional linear, streaming, and integrated national media opportunities
  • Previous experience in sports media sales is highly preferred, with familiarity selling across regional sports networks and/or national sports platforms
  • Established, influential relationships with key marketers, media buyers, and decision-makers at advertising agencies, including those managing national budgets
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to structure and close complex, multi-platform deals

Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000 

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
