SUMMARY OF POSITION: Carrollton Public School District is seeking a Junior Varsity Baseball Coach that is responsible for leading, developing, and mentoring student-athletes in a manner that promotes athletic growth, character development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The coach will instruct athletes in the fundamentals of baseball while supporting the overall vision and philosophy of the district's athletic program. This position plays a critical role in preparing student-athletes for progression to the varsity level and fostering a positive, disciplined, and development-focused team culture.

REPORTS TO:   Jacob Premo- Athletic Director of Carrollton Public School

COMPENSATION:  The Junior Varsity Baseball Coach will be paid in accordance with the CEA contract "Appendix B"

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Help student-athletes develop values, morals, and a "student-first" mentality that prioritizes academics and personal growth.
  •  Analyze individual athletes' abilities and create drills or activities to strengthen skill development.
  • Collaborate with varsity and junior varsity head coaches to support program development and continuity.
  •  Educate student-athletes on the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
  • Teach and reinforce the value of a "team-first" mentality.
  •  Instill self-confidence in athletes through positive coaching techniques and team-bonding activities.
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately with parents, players, and the Athletic Director regarding schedules, expectations, and program updates.
  • Ensure compliance with district, league, and state athletic policies and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:                     

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Prior coaching experience preferred.
  • Passion for developing middle school athletes both athletically and personally.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with coaching staff, students, and families.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required for practices and games. 
  • Experience working with at-risk students and their families is preferred.
  •  Must receive a satisfactory response to 4205-F Authorization for Release of Information and Employee History Check Under 1996 P.A.189 of 1996; MCL380.1230b. 
  • Must satisfactorily pass:
    •         Law enforcement background checks with fingerprinting.
    •         Personal and professional reference background check.
