Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is seeking an Avionics Electrical Engineer to support the Axiom Space Commercial Space Station program in Houston, TX. The selected candidate for this position will play a key role in the development of hardware and firmware for commercial human spaceflight modules.
Key Duties:
  • Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for the Axiom Space Station.
  • Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation.
  • Perform integration and testing of electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues.
  • Support design reviews of power and hardware systems as well as other spacecraft systems.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers.

Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
  • 5 or more years of experience.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and verifying human spaceflight electrical systems and components.
  • Proficiency in using simulation tools to analyze circuit performance.
  • Understanding of PCB layout, manufacturing, EEE parts selection, and environmental qualifications.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another related technical discipline.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Experience with coding languages, specifically Python and MATLAB.
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC design principles.
  • Experience with VHDL/FPGA Core Design.
  • Experience with analog, digital, or mixed signal multilayer PCB design.
  • Ability to interface with mechanical and thermal subsystems.
  • Experience with high-speed signals such as DDR, Ethernet, and USB.
  • 10 or more years of related experience.
