Executive Assistant

FREEDOM BOAT CLUB OF SEATTLE AND GREATER PUGET SOUND

Full-time | Seattle HQ | Reports to CEO | $50–$70k DOE

─────────────────────

ABOUT US

Freedom Boat Club is the world's largest members-only boat club. Our Seattle-region franchise brings that experience to life every day. Members enjoy access to a professionally maintained fleet without the cost or hassle of boat ownership. No storage, no maintenance, no surprises. Life is better on the water, and we make it simple to get there.

We started in 2017 with just 4 boats. Today our fleet has grown to nearly 200, and that kind of growth doesn't happen without the right people behind it. We believe our team members are our most important asset. We operate with a service standard best captured by the idea of "Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen" — extending the same care and respect to one another that we give our members. At FBC, excellence is celebrated, individual growth is encouraged, and everyone (teammates and members alike) finds freedom.

We're a small, close-knit team. We move with purpose, have big dreams, take genuine pride in what we do, and look for people who bring that same energy.

We encourage you to get a feel for our world with one of our favorite videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ef7Rt2JK17Y

THE ROLE

This is a new position built to free up executive bandwidth and help the entire business run more smoothly. You'll work directly alongside the CEO, own real operational responsibilities from day one, and grow into a trusted presence on the team and around our leadership team.

The right person for this role is someone who loves bringing order to complexity, communicates with warmth and clarity, and finds genuine joy in making the people around them more effective. You'll be someone this team relies on — not just for what you execute, but for the energy and consistency you bring to the workplace every day.

This role is designed to grow with you. You won't tackle everything on day one, and instead you'll take on one process at a time, build real confidence in it, and accumulate a portfolio of ownership that matters to how this business runs. For the right person, that path leads somewhere meaningful, and over time, including a seat alongside our leadership team.

─────────────────────

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

CEO & Executive Support

• Manage the CEO's time, priorities, and follow-through — protecting focus and reducing day-to-day operational load with good judgment about what gets through and what gets handled another way

• Handle correspondence, scheduling, and coordination on behalf of the CEO

• Anticipate needs, track open items, and close loops without being asked twice

Office & Administrative Operations

• Keep the office running smoothly — uniform management, supply ordering and stocking, scheduling, and day-to-day logistics

• Run and review operational reports, and delegate or coordinate routine tasks like cleaning and tidying schedules

• Build and maintain simple internal systems and communication practices that keep everyone aligned

Company Events & Culture

• Plan and coordinate internal company events — team gatherings, recognition moments, and seasonal activities

• Be an active contributor to team culture: someone who celebrates wins, notices people, and makes the workplace feel a little better just by being present

Member-Facing Communications

• Own outbound member communications for key business processes, including managing responses and routing feedback appropriately

• Represent the business with the same warmth and professionalism we bring to every member interaction

Safety & L&I

• Ensure safety meetings are scheduled, held, and properly documented

• Monitor Washington L&I updates and relevant regulatory changes, flagging anything that may affect our operations

Special Projects

• Take ownership of research, planning, and execution of projects that don't have a natural home elsewhere in the business

• This is a core part of the role — we need someone with real bandwidth and genuine curiosity to dig into problems and drive them forward

─────────────────────

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're not looking for someone who checks every box — we're looking for someone with a strong foundation and the drive to grow into the rest. The ideal candidate brings some meaningful combination of the following (and we're happy to grow the right person into the rest):

• Executive assistant or administrative experience — managing priorities, calendars, communications, and organizational systems on behalf of a leader

• HR experience — familiarity with HR processes, employee lifecycle, or people operations in any capacity

• ADP or similar HR/payroll platform experience

• Compliance or L&I experience — Washington state employment law, workers' compensation, or regulatory monitoring

• Google Workspace proficiency — Docs, Sheets, and Drive are central to how we work; familiarity with Slack, Salesforce, or Canva is a plus

• Marine industry background — experience in boating, maritime, or outdoor recreation

• Membership-based business experience — understanding the member relationship and recurring-service model

Beyond, and more important than their experience, we need someone who is:

• Warm, clear, and professional in all communications — written and in person

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

• Trustworthy and discreet — you'll have access to sensitive business, personnel, and member information

• Self-directed and comfortable with evolving scope

• A genuine relationship-builder — someone who naturally earns trust and is well-liked across a team

─────────────────────

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$50,000–$70,000 annually, depending on experience.

• Health insurance

• Paid time off

• Paid closures for a Thanksgiving break and from December 24 through January 2

• Employee membership — full access to our FBC fleet

This is a full-time (predominantly Monday through Friday), in-person position based at our Seattle headquarters. Freedom Boat Club and our team work most holidays with the exception of our scheduled breaks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years).

─────────────────────

HOW TO APPLY

Send us your resume along with a short note — a few sentences is plenty — telling us what draws you to this kind of role. We're not looking for a formal cover letter, just a genuine sense of who you are.

Bonus points if you love the water.
