Job Summary

The Nursing Excellence Manager is primarily responsible for leading organizational initiatives that advance the professional nursing practice, achieving nursing excellence designations (e.g., Magnet Recognition Program, Pathway to Excellence). The Nursing Excellence Manager is also responsible for grant writing and overseeing all aspects of a nursing program to ensure it consistently meets the standards for accreditation by governing bodies like the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC). This role integrates evidence-based practices, new technologies, and process improvements to enhance patient outcomes, nursing satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

Nursing Excellence_25%

-  Lead efforts to achieve and sustain Magnet, Pathway to Excellence, and/or similar nursing programs.

-  Identify, pilot, implement, and manage new technologies, workflows, and care models that improve nursing practice.

-  Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying gaps and areas for development in relation to accreditation standards.

-  Serve as liaison between frontline staff and leadership to translate needs into actionable innovation projects.

-  Engage staff through recognition programs, innovation challenges, and professional advancement opportunities

Grant Writing_25%

-  Research, write, and submit proposals to secure funding for projects, programs, and for the organization.

-  Matching funding opportunities with organizational needs

-  Writing compelling grant proposals that align with funder guidelines and requirements.

-  Preparing reports and progress updates for ongoing grants.

-  Collaborate with stakeholders, such as directors, finance teams, and other staff to gather information for grant proposals.

Accreditation Process Management_25%

-  Coordinate and manage the entire accreditation process, ensuring adherence to timelines and procedures.

-  Work with accrediting bodies to understand the standards and criteria that must be met for accreditation.

-  Prepare and compile documentation required for accreditation applications and renewals.
