Position Summary: The position will be responsible for selling the Excel roster of talent to a wide range of organizations for events and conferences both in person and virtual. This is a senior sales focused role, so candidates should have extended knowledge of the sales landscape specific to the speaker business, and have experience working with talent. The position will be based in Excel's NY, Miami, Chicago OR Los Angeles office, and open to remote for the right candidate.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and pursue new speaker opportunities.
  • Join Excel with an existing book of business while building on new book of sales business.
  • Recruit new potential speaker clients, alongside Head of Division.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with current speakers, understanding their needs and preferences.
  • Present and pitch speakers to buyers, highlighting their expertise and speaking style.
  • Negotiate fees and contracts with buyers.
  • Research and identify new areas for growth for our speakers, and help build buyer database.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote speakers and their expertise, along with the creation of targeted marketing campaigns for speakers.
  • Utilize online platforms to increase speaker visibility and reach.

Education & Experience:

  • Proven experience in speaker industry with at least 10 years of sales experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of the sales process and how to manage client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Understanding of event planning and logistics process is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

The pay range for this position is: $150,000 – $175,000 per year. This position is also eligible for benefits and a sales bonus.

Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
