Job description

Description
The primary function of the Safety Video Reviewer is to provide support to the Agency's safety and security program and provide data to planning and operations. Furthermore, the position supports ACT's purpose and objectives by respecting and adhering to all policies and procedures of the Agency.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
  • Manual and automated video retrieval from on board video systems to include but not limited to requests of video from operations for incidents, accidents and 3rd party requests.
  • Pulling the proper format of video for the required players operated by the Agency.
  • Scheduling Video pulls for automated video retrievals through cloud portals and for on premises server requests through OEM software systems.
  • Properly categorizing, organizing and storing video retrieved from multiple DVR locations, types, dates, and business units onto Agency owned servers after retrieval.
  • Reporting failed video, bad video or failed cameras from onboard hardware to fleet department leadership.
  • Requesting rolling stock equipment is held from fleet department for manual retrieval when necessary.
  • Troubleshooting of video retrieval issues. This may include working directly with the manufacturer to ensure software and connectivity issues are handled through IT help tickets.
  • Review surveillance equipment recordings for irregular activities such as unsafe driving or theft by those employed, using audio and video equipment.
  • Monitor Agency drivers through video to ensure adherence to all regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Review accidents and incidents (e.g. vehicle, falls, fights), and report information to management for preventability decisions.
  • Track video reviews in excel and computer programs.
  • Report all violations and suspicious behaviors to department supervisors, verbally or in writing.
  • Be aware of the potential safety and security factors throughout the transit facilities and to follow all applicable policies and procedures of the Agency. Responsible to report any known or potential safety and/or security factor immediately to an appropriate supervisor, including any employee not following the policies and/or safety procedures.
  • Attends work regularly ready to perform duties.

Non-Essential Functions:
  • Assist managers of operations and administration.

Requirements
  • School Diploma or GED equivalence.
  • High Basic understanding of onboard video surveillance DVR systems.
  • Basic laptop and desktop windows-based hardware knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge of downloading and moving windows-based files to local servers.
  • Active listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
  • Critical thinking - Using logic and reasoning to make conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Normal working conditions for this position are typical of an office environment. Some exposure to outside elements when retrieving videos off buses. The position requires a capacity to work beyond standard office hours when needed to meet critical deadlines. Drive licensed company vehicles to various destinations.
The physical requirements of the position include sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and/or other office equipment. Remain still for long periods of time watching videos. Requires visual acuity to watch video and read operational reports and speaking ability to sufficiently to communicate in person.
