Machine Operator: Saw/Slitter Operator

Job Summary

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, loading, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality operations. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to meet production goals while maintaining product quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment according to standard operating procedures.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform routine machine adjustments and minor troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and assist maintenance personnel with repairs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including output and quality data.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Load raw materials and remove finished products from production lines.
  • Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to achieve daily production targets.
  • Flexibly rotate between different machine stations and equipment types to support daily manufacturing goals.
  • Participate in training, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, security, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience operating production equipment is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and safety documents.
