Job description

Mardian Concrete Pumping has been an established Company since 1956. Marco Equipment has maintained its number one market share in Arizona, ranking in the top 20 in the U.S. and the top 50 in the world. We provide sales, leasing, service, parts, and riggings for cranes, concrete pumps, and other heavy equipment throughout Arizona, California, Guam, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. Not only has the Mardian family been in this business for three generations, but the personnel here have more combined experience than ANY other crane or concrete pump company in the Southwest! Our Corporate Office is located in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona.

Mardian Concrete Pumping is looking for a full-time CONCRETE PUMP OPERATOR for our PHOENIX branch. We work with clients on our Pump Trucks up to 65M, Placing Booms, Telebelts up to 130ft, Laser Screed Flat/2D/3D for commercial and residential projects. This position is responsible for maintaining, controlling, and operating power-driven, stationary, or portable concrete pumps.

JOB DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Operate and maintain concrete pumps for Mardian Concrete Pumping
  • Communicate with other workers, using signals, radios, or telephones, to start and stop flows of materials or substances.
  • Monitor gauges and flow meters and inspect equipment to ensure that tank levels, temperatures, chemical amounts, and pressures are at specified levels, reporting abnormalities as necessary.
  • Read operating schedules or instructions or receive verbal orders, to determine amounts to be pumped.
  • Check the line and inspect the pump daily for any defects or malfunctions.
  • Responsible for reading the operator’s manual for all equipment operated.
  • Perform daily maintenance and inspections per the operator’s manual.
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures.
  • Perform Daily DOT inspections as required.
  • Fill out and obtain signatures on short-term lease agreements at the beginning of each day.
  • Obtain signature on short-term lease agreements at the end of each day.
  • Complete timecards each day.
  • Fill out daily/weekly inspections as required.
  • Ensure all pump permits and certifications are current.
  • Turn in all paperwork to dispatch promptly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SAFETY

  • Play an active role in the development of the safety culture, making safety a natural part of all work performed.
  • Identify and report safety concerns.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform assigned duties in a safe manner.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and reporting any equipment issues. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma (or GED) plus any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for successful performance of this position.

  • 3-5 years of experience. 
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License.
  • Valid DOT medical card.
  • Knowledge of hand signals.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent organization, communication, follow-through, and execution skills.
  • Confidence in working closely with co-workers.
  • High level of accountability, discipline, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with a team.
  • CPR/First Aid certification through an accredited program - preferred.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Willingness to take a drug and alcohol test as well as a background check.

*KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Knowledge of industry, must be able to use consistent exercise of discretion and judgement;
  • Proper use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling; basic mathematics; legal and proper telephone etiquette and techniques; standard office software applications; standard office equipment;
  • Application of data processing in the maintenance of records and reports;
  • Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access) tools is essential;
  • Knowledge of how to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
