Position Title
Strategic Sourcing Specialist
Job Description
Purpose & Scope:
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist plays a critical role in advancing VHC Health's supply chain performance through data-driven sourcing, procurement optimization, and financial analysis. Reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Manager, this position leverages advanced analytical and Excel-based modeling skills to evaluate spend patterns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and present data-driven recommendations to leadership. The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will work in concert with multiple departments across VHC Health to maximize value achieved through supplier contracts and relationships.
This role combines technical proficiency, strategic thinking, and business acumen to ensure a cost-effective, efficient, and transparent supply chain that contributes to operational excellence and high-quality patient care. The Specialist will independently manage large datasets, perform in-depth analyses, and develop executive-level reports that inform sourcing and procurement strategies across the organization.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field is preferred.
Additional experience considered in lieu of education requirement: Three-Five (3-5) years Supply Chain Management.
Experience:
Three-five (3-5) years of Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Data Analytics required.
Strong proficiency with ERP systems (Lawson, Workday, SAP, Oracle, or similar) is preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing and analyzing large datasets to support sourcing or procurement decisions. Proven track record of using advanced Excel features (macros/VBA, pivot tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, advanced formulas) for analysis and reporting.
Certification/Licensure:
CMRP Preferred.
Additional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, Microsoft Excel Expert, or Data Analytics/BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) a plus.
