Construction Safety Manager

???? Location: Safety Coordinator

???? Duration: Long-Term (Start: 7/20)

???? Type: 1099 Contractor with Opportunity to Transition into a Full-Time W2 Position in Knoxville, TN office

???? Company Vehicle Provided Upon Full-Time Conversion



Compensation & Schedule

???? Pay Rate: $49/hr and $0.72 per mile for gas reimbursement while traveling between sites.

???? Per Diem: No perdiem

???? Completion Bonus: $150/month

???? Pay Frequency: Weekly

โฐ Schedule: Monday-Friday | 40-50 Hours Per Week | 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

This role offers the opportunity to oversee safety activities involving excavation, trenching, underground utility installation, heavy equipment operations, and daily civil construction work on a high-profile project.

This position also offers the potential to transition into a full-time W2 role upon successful project completion, with future opportunities to support projects based out of the company's Knoxville office and a company vehicle provided.


Required Qualifications

โœ” OSHA 30 Certification

โœ” Trenching and excavation safety experience required

Preferred Qualifications

โญ Data center construction experience

โญ Underground utilities experience (water, sewer, storm, electrical, or telecommunications)

โญ Heavy civil construction experience

โญ Competent Person - Excavation & Trenching

โญ CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential


What You'll Be Doing
  • Oversee daily safety activities for underground utility construction operations
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Monitor excavation, trenching, and underground utility installation activities
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA excavation standards and project safety requirements
  • Monitor heavy equipment operations, material handling, and contractor activities
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Deliver new hire orientations and ongoing safety coaching
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), excavation permits, and pre-task plans
  • Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
  • Partner with project supervision to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
  • Promote a positive safety culture across the project

Candidates should have working knowledge of:
