We are seeking an experienced Lead Septic Repair & Excavation Technician to join our growing service division.

This is a working field position—not just an equipment operator. You will operate excavators and skid steers while also working alongside your crew performing physical labor, completing repairs, and ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently, and professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Operate mini excavators, compact excavators, and skid steers
  • Drive company trucks and trailers to residential and commercial job sites
  • Locate and excavate buried cesspools, septic tanks, sewer lines, and utility connections
  • Install septic tank risers, collars, access covers, and distribution box risers
  • Replace main waste lines, sewer laterals, and underground piping
  • Perform septic system repairs and service excavations
  • Dig by hand around utilities, septic tanks, and structures when required
  • Lay and connect sewer pipe and fittings
  • Load and unload equipment, tools, and materials
  • Organize job materials, truck inventory, and yard stock
  • Work alongside and help lead a 2-3 person crew
  • Restore job sites by backfilling, grading, cleaning, and leaving properties in excellent condition
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners and commercial customers
  • Complete job notes, photos, and documentation using company iPads and ServiceTitan
  • Utilize GPS and mobile technology to navigate between job sites
  • Follow Safe Dig 811 requirements, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards
  • Maintain clean trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment

Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A or Class B License required
  • Clean driving record
  • Experience operating mini excavators, skid steers, and compact construction equipment
  • Experience in septic, sewer, excavation, underground utilities, plumbing, or sitework required
  • Willingness to perform physical labor—not just operate equipment
  • Ability to safely dig around underground utilities and existing infrastructure
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to use GPS, mobile applications, and CRM software on an iPad
  • ServiceTitan experience is a plus
  • Strong work ethic, leadership skills, and attention to detail
