Job Summary Job Summary The Instructional Assistant - Special Education (Behavior Intervention) assists a certificated teacher by reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students with significant aggressive and/or other behavioral difficulties in a classroom setting or program using intensive behavioral management techniques, intervention strategies, coping skills and problem solving techniques.

This classification also implements plans for instruction, monitors student behavior, documents activities and progress and performs a variety of related instructional support duties as assigned. Attach these documents to your application: Valid First Aid and Adult CPR certifications from an accredited organization such as the Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Online First Aid certificates are acceptable, however, CPR certificate must include "hands on" classroom training. The CPR certification must state that it was taken as a hands on or classroom training. If you do not have valid certification(s), you may submit certifications to a test proctor if you are selected to move forward in the testing process.
